Reckon so. Can't see even us decimating the squad with nothing in place to fill the gaps.

Steady! That's beginning to border on the almost positive. As I'm relaxed over the squad situation, I'm guessing I don't fully understand, nor appreciate, the severity of our predicament.
I'm also a thick, old bugger, too.

That's if we keep him. Lot of responsibility to put on the young fellas shoulders. He had a decent couple of months but faded towards the end. Getting a goalscorer is much more difficult.

For all I know, we may have already signed him.

If reports are true we seem to be trying to get one (or 2) - chances might be better now, depending how much we got for Cog

Tell thi what, you clearly dont fancy our chances this season so i will offer a polite sportsmans bet. I will donate 20 quid to a charity of your choice if we dont finish top half this season, not a lot i know but i have a young family. 20 quid to a charity of my choice paid by you if we do finish top half. Deal ?

To be honest of the players who could have left I think we would have missed Jennings the least as he was the most replaceable. I guess as he is outside the SCMP rules we have kept him mainly for that reason. A decent winger who often lacks end product and is still learning the game balanced against your top scorer it's not a hard choice if you hard it.

You see this is the problem with people like you and the berk sending me pointless PMs.

I don't want to bet against Barnsley Football Club. Do you really think I would spend £300 of my (very) hard earned money on a season ticket, too much of my spare time on here and time following the club up and down the country if I didn't care about the club? If I didn't want the club to be as successful as possible? Would I really do that? That goes for everyone else on here who moans and criticises. Whether you like people or not and regardless of their opinions everyone loves the club as much as you do. They just show it in different ways. This board is a way to vent your spleen, air your grievances or whatever else you might want to say about the club. You might want to defend the club to the hilt and that's your choice. It doesn't make you a better (or worse) supporter. It just means you have a different outlook. Feel free to disagree with someone all you want - but don't question their feelings for the club.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the way things are going at the moment. The club is poorly run and the fans (and that's all of us) have been misled and let down, particularly over the last three months. If you want to think otherwise that's up to you. I think I've set my stall out pretty clearly so if you continue to question my support for my/you/our club then I really think you should put me on ignore. Permanently.

    Very good points well put.

Maybe i am more optimistic than i should be, who knows, but personally i try to look on the bright side when it comes to our club.

Are we been poorly run ? Again who knows . I have no idea what goes off behind the scenes of running a football club so rather than guessing about what's really happening i would personally adopt a wait and see what the finished produce will be instead of assuming the worse straight away.

My own opinion is that what has happened in the last few days is something the club hoped would have happened a few weeks ago, get the high earners of the wage list and replace them with targets they really want.
In a ideal world we would have kept steele and ogrady and added to the squad more than we have, but it isn't a ideal world when it come's to bfc, or probably any other lower league club which is what we are.

For the record i dont actually dislike you as a poster(the troll post was the southern comfort kicking in) but as an optimist the doom and gloom posts(not just you) does my nut in :)

edited quite a few times, way too much southern comfort nar

Nowt wrong with being optimistic but at the same time some people are justifiably concerned.

With so many players leaving and the promises of being competitive and of early recruitment I would have expected to have seen half a dozen first team players in by now. As it is I don't think we will get that many before the start of season as it stands we don't even have enough players for a decent first eleven. That's why I'm a bit concerned really.

Owt could happen in the next three(!) weeks but then again nowt could happen.
