You beat me to it, I was going to reply something similar to bossman, I think we will struggle early doors until we get it together but a restructure both on and off the pitch is overdue, it would have been nice if we could have done it without relegation but we didn't, I'm now looking forward with a mixture of optimism and intrigue to see how things evolve.
Hopefully mate. Working a lot of Saturdays these days but I'm hoping that stops once August arrives! Hoping to drive down for Coventry/Northampton away in August.
And you're our Wolfie Smith "Power to the people!" <img src ="http://img.thesun.co.uk/aidemitlum/archive/01297/Sullivan_02_1297942a.jpg">
Supposed to have been a big family barbie happening now. Cancelled. Sky's bible black, thunder, lightning, torrential rain. But being a "half glass full" type of chap....No two hours of watering the garden...Whoopee. Just the way I approach life I suppose....Almost 60, no blood pressure problems.
Well if we get enough people with half full glasses and join forces with the glass half empty brigade together we will have a full glass,
No chance...Though sometimes I feel guilty about increasing the NHS budget by winding the little ***** up....
Neither optimistic nor pessimistic at the moment, just waiting to see what happens. Dunno how anyone can make any predictions at the moment as the squad we have in place now is not the same as the one that will start the season or the one we'll have by the end of August.
The optimism for me is that if we want a quality league one player we have a chance of getting him. Unlike in the Championship where we had to sign who nobody else wanted. Which then leads to gambles (Frimpong, Mido, etc) or players from the league below (Wiseman, Mvoto etc)
I wasn't saying people shouldn't be optimistic. Or pessimistic for that matter, if they really want. But I've read numerous people predicting our downfall and imho that just can't be done at the moment because we don't even know who will be playing for us yet. There will be signings before the end of August. It's easy to say the squad we have now won't do well, we just don't have the numbers, but it won't stay that way. The kick off isn't tomorrow, it's not for three weeks.
For **** sake, Roy. Tha nivver learns. Can't you remember where that optimism got us this time last summer? Can you not remember leaving the Wigan game when the third goal went in to go for a pint? We said we were doomed then, on about 80 minutes of viewing. However, I'm more optimistic than I am pessimistic ahead of this season. I don't feel as worried as some folk do, but I do think we're about ten players light. If we can get most of them in before the season starts, and they're the sort of players being linked with us, my optimism will increase. I always look forward to a new season. Owt can happen. So many possible highlights/lowlights this season. Bring it on. Once we've signed some more laikers.
Not even kicked a ball and I've read at least half a dozen people saying we're as good as down. Talk about drama queens.
Sorry mate, wasn't really directed at you, just posting on linear mode. To be honest I'd be more concerned if we'd been signing loads of players on low wages to pad out the squad. Because then when you do lose Craine and O'Grady you probably end up with mediocrity you don't need. We're hopefully now going to be recruiting with clarity. Another reason to be positive, everyone was certain last year was going to be successful and it was an unmitigated disaster. Consequently, now everyone thinks we're going to get relegated we're obviously going up. As champions. In February.
Oh aye I remember it like it like it were yesterday, not even drowning our sorrows helped but tha knows me ever the optimist
