Ben Mansford you have set your stall out. The clock is now ticking.
I eagerly await this weeks developments.
I'm losing faith in him but can he deliver on his statement and restore some trust?

Lost faith in him months ago, speaks like an MP and never fully answers any questions.

Listened to interview and I agree he sidestepped quite a few questions.
Always makes me thing their trying to hide something instead of a bit of transparency.

Which of the questions that he avoided do you think he should have answered? Realistically?

Sick to death of undisclosed fees we always roll out. Gidding's probed him quite a bit on this yet just had the same non committal answer.
Who is the lifeblood of Barnsley FC?
From where i'm sitting its the fans. The fans pay money to the club and take this away ultimately and the club will cease to exist so forgive me if i'm a little bit fed up of all the secrecy.
All it says to me is we've been shafted yet again!

I really don't understand this attitude. If we tell everyone How much money we've got then that's How much they'll ask for when were go to buy players. That's Why Andy Carroll is a 35million pound footballer. If Mansford was making this info public I'd think he was a numpty. As is, he's working in the best interest of the club. Good on him I say.

People are beginning to think that Mansford is a numpy as you put it when he makes statements of intent as he did at the end of last season yet fails to deliver on his pledges.
    My opinion of course.

You could answer his reply.... Do you want the club to be spending your money on over priced players because everyone knows the fees and are jacking the price up?

And my view would be that for the most part that's people selectively taking words and phrases from media interviews and selectively using them to suit their own negative agendas against the club. But that's just my opinion too of course. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. I wouldn't want to outline my plans either if I was him because it just opens up more demands for every minute detail to be communicated. At the end of the day people need to realise BFC is a business and we don't have a right to know every detail of What's happening.

That is an opinion to which your entitled but we ain't spending any money YET.
Hence title of the post which suggests a flurry of incoming's this week.
If we are as we were this time next week Mansford's credibility will be in tatters.

We have bought Conor Houriane.... Thats it

what i have seen this week is a fire sale. I understand why we have had to do this but why wasn't it said before and seeing stories to say COG was committed etc.
Media at the club is still a shambles
Nothing as changed despite a new chairman and CEO.
We still get mugged off with transfer fees
Mansford skirted around alot of those questions.
Its frustating to me a fan as I have posted before about feeling disconnected from the club

He hasn't failed to deliver yet, unless of course you are privy to a delivery date.

Completely agree. If we announce the fee then we're showing our hand and other clubs will add a bit extra on every time we try and make a signing

The ones bairning on won't understand that. Its something to do with the twitter/facebook age were all and sundry bare their souls for all to see and can't understand why others don't.

I'm not a huge fan of Mansford's, yet. But I'm not anti him or owt.

He definitely left himself open to criticism with a few things he's said previously. But what did folk expect him to say?

"well, yes Andy, we're willing to listen to any offers for our players as we're skint.."

Can't really say I give a toss about all this undisclosed business. Football is a tiny community with a lot of big mouths in it. One thing though we never had all this secrecy under Dennis' stewardship and I don't recall it affecting incoming transfers. Given the level we operate at seems unnecessary and ridiculous.

The owner sorts the budget and the manager decides what players he wants. I'd not blame Ben too much for the little action we've seen so far.

It's obviously a difficult concept to grasp. We couldn't go full pelt on the rebuilding until we made room on the wage bill. FFP limits us to spending 60% of our turnover in wages. A turnover that has just halved, so our wage bill has to halve as well. That is why we will now see progress in the next week. We have moved on some of the high earners and given ourselves room to manoeuvre.
