I'm no fan of John Ryan, but he took a club and raised it from the Conference. He found a multimillionaire backer who also happens to be from Donny, and clearly also loves the club. And then gets pulled up with some technicality. Everything falls apart.

I don't know the ins and outs but I'd love to know how the various owners at Leeds past and present wangle their way through the fit and proper test, and yet the Donny two don't.

I know some Donny fans who have followed them through thick and thin, and even they, for some reason, seem to dislike us. I,ve always put it down to jealousy. There,s a lot being said about us on their Forum and much of that isn,t complimentary. They truly believe they are a bigger and better club even though there is no evidence to support this. If it was the other way around, we wouldn't get any sympathy from them.So for that reason I'm out. Hope they suffer big time.

Isn't it just that the 1D lad wasn't aware of the fundraising element relying on the fans that failed, not that he didn't fit the 'bill' so to speak?!?

    That was my understanding.

They are tinpot mongs. I've grown to dislike the pikeys ever since they just decided to hate us after they got a few promotions. I used to want DRFC to do well as I always saw them as a decent little club but they almost have that S6 swagger about them. If they drop to the very bottom without a penny in their pockets I couldn't care less.

Similar sort of club to ours I have no joy in their plight. Lots of loyal fans who deserve better. I hope things turn round for them (after we've nicked another couple of players).

Be the bigger man! Nothing wrong with rivalry, but they are a Yorkshire club.

Go and have a glance at there forum. The Sheffield attitude they have adopted were little old barnsley shouldn't even be able to compete or even be in the same league as them, is nothing short of staggering.

A very small minority of their fans. We have some on here the same who dismiss Teams they think we are 'bigger' than. Donny are like most clubs our size struggling to keep their heads above water les hope they do so.

They were like a little brother 20 years ago, we used to play them in friendlies & the Yorkshire cup, they had one of the worst grounds in the football league and they were always languishing at the bottom of the football pyramid but they were a lovely club with lovely supporters. They buried their own club at a mock funeral then JR came in and they started to climb a little, l cheered them on at Stoke hoping they'd get back into the football league, they did. But then their supporters changed, Bramall & Watson joined the board and they were getting 5-6,000 instead of the usual 2,000. A new ground was on the horizon, we were on the demise, in administration and in free fall.

We met them for the first time in 20 odd years at Oakwell (I still don't know how they managed to score 3) and how much their supporters had changed! They claimed to have brought 5,6 thousand even though the away stand only holds 6,000 and the end section which holds over a 1,000 was shut and the first two rows were also closed. They didn't care, they had more than the 4,000 that was given out there, they were now massive and Billy Big Ballax was in full swing. I was in Donny a lot during this time and their first greeting upon finding out l was a tarn fan was "We took 6/7 even sometimes 8 thousand there". They began to mock us even though we had spent 30 odd years 2, 3, even 4 divisions above them. That time was possibly the lowest period in our recent history and one of the best in their whole history, we lost 4 games out of 4 against them over 2 seasons, ex players scoring against us we were that bad. They even include a 5th tin pot game, but if they must.. We had to put up with them on the radio, we were promoted so we were unable to settle the score, JR constantly having a dig at us on the radio "We should be up not Barnsley etc..." the man was becoming a bell with silly comments every other week. His best was that Donny would take 40,000 if ever they got to Wembley, the town will be shut etc, they did... they took a little over 20k...

Then they finally got promotion, a t-shirt came out "44 cup finals and 2 games against Barnsley" off they mock again, was this a club who had a great history? who had finished above us for years? No, this was little Donny from little Belle Vue, that ground we used to laugh at on the way to the Finningley Airshow "Does someone really play there dad?" Then we finally got to meet them, they met JCR, who took on all of their team and scored, we had ten men and put 4 past them, we did the double, old scores were beginning to be settled. Further victories at the Keepmoat and a comfortable 2-0 at Oakwell where we cheered the passes not long after half time spring to mind. Recently we have the upper hand and they struggle to bring 1,000 to Oakwell, we never take less than 2,500 to theirs. We constantly take players off them, McIndoe, Big Jean etc, they don't like it. Maybe we are now becoming the "Billy Big ******" again, they no longer shout from the rooftops, JR talks about us in a nice way, he likes us.

Maybe they we can begin to start liking our little brother again, he's had his adolescent years..

Wasn't the main reason we lost three nil that Coppinger got Austin sent of after they tumbled into the crowd and Austin's mate, Antony Kay decidd to take retribution, and was also sent off?

Being from donny, at the time of those 5 defeats I was 14/15 and still at school. All of a sudden every tw@t (including the teachers) turned into Donny fans (bare in mind most had man utd, leeds shirts). I remember posters going up around Donny town centre degrading us (thought cant remember what they said). Obviously I got the last laugh when we got promoted but all of a sudden nobody cared and the Man Utd and Leeds shirts were back out. I've never known such a tinpot club have such an ego, who they think they are I'm not quite sure. Every fan you talk to has been going since the conference days, which would mean they'd been averaging bout 10,000 back then.

If theres one club I'd love to see struggle for a decade before being liquidated and their place being taken by Hyde or someone, then Doncaster Rovers is it. Cant stop laughing at the minute.

We hardly finished any of those 4 dreadful games with 11 men.

1-3 Burns off on 77 mins
0-4 Vaughan off on 39 mins
0-2 Austin off on 18 mins & Kay off on 72 mins.

Played most of them games with a man less.

It's more than funny that they have four local multi millionaires involved within the takeover stuff and yet they are still in the ****. Just goes to show that it doesn't always pay to have a local as the football club owner.

I'd look at it differently. To me, it shows that folk shouldn't equate personal wealth of board members with monies being available to the club.

The opposite is in fact true.

We're a bigger a much better club than they are.

They're just a lower league team that has come up to say hello for a bit. Might be on their way back down soon by the way things are heading.
