Ram John Holder is my bestie in London and I have a new soul brother in John Murry, though he isn't that famous yet. I used to chat to Paul McCartney regularly but not for a while. And we had a cousin who played footy for for Man City and Arsenal. Pete Doherty plays on my album, but haven't seen him for yonks. Ray Davies lives around the corner from me and always says hello, but I don't think we are quite friends yet. Oh and I'm massive FB pals with Nicky Wire's mam.

I'm distantly related to Rudyard Kipling, Stanley Baldwin and Edward Burne-Jones; all long dead but famous in their day (ask your Grandad!).

I live next door to Travis Binnion, who is a youth coach with the blunts and works for Chris Morgan, so I guess that's more infamous than famous.

My Grandads cousin is Ernest Hine, who still is Barnsley's leading goalscorer with 123 goals.

I have played cricket with England Cricketers, Tim Bresnan and Chris Silverwood, who remain friends to this day. I now work with Iain Ferguson, ex Scotland International.

My Cousin used to be a British Champion High Jumper, Adele Lassu although I think even Adele would say her fame is pretty much Barnsley Chronicle led.

I'm also friends with Craig of Coronation Street, he's the chunky ginger haired lad who held the key to the murder in the Pub, when Carl got locked up. I see him every week as he comes to watch us play cricket at Castleford.

My own personal claim to fame is getting Englands Joe Root out in a match only a few years ago.

Taught Dale all he knows :)

Great grandma used to live next door to Keith Burkinshaw - she had 19 kids - one day my great grandad came home and sent Keith to bed because he thought he was one of his own. Keith ' s mum came round and found him in bed with the other kids :)

When I'm in London, the guy in the flat next door is one half of Wang Chung (before anyone asks, he says he's Wang).

I'm good friends with the couple who hold the world record for the most bird species seen in a year (over 4,000 species) , I know Chris Difford out of Squeeze, I've had dinner with Freddie Mercury's sister and Jonny Lee Miller (not at the same time).

Some of my close personal friends are so famous that I couldn't possibly reveal on here, for fear of a media feeding frenzy.

    Finetime Fontaine.

Ian Crossley aka Finetime Fontaine. Back on Coronation Street and was in last weeks Chronicle.

He lived on Princess Street in Wombwell and I lived on Frederick Street the next Street up.

His cousin Gary was was my first friend at Barnsley Road Infants School. That would be some time around 1955-56.

Ian's is Mum ran the corner shop on Princess Street and his Dad was a Miner. They left to run a pub Boston way sometime after 1966.

We were all at Wombwell High in 1962.

Ian is was a smashing lad and was always fun to be around. The last time I spoke to him was in the old Legion Club in Wombwell in the mid 70s. God I'm getting old.
