    Didn't we get 50% more for Stones than they got for McGuire? McGuire who has been a regular in their team for 3 years, Stones who had just started his career with us.
    So how are they are a serious club when they've just sold their best player for peanuts?

    Maybe now, but Everton paid 3m for potential. They also bought a championship right back and have made him into a top premier div centre back.

    Sheff united have sold their top defender for half that amount.

    I think we got the best deal

    Look at it this way stones played 20 games - fat harry has been a regular for a few years.

    We also sold stones as a RB, not a CB, CB's tend to go for more than full backs.

    The fee we got for stones was a good one, the fee the blunts got was massively inflated, but that's not our problem, what would you rather us do? Stones wanted to leave, he loves the club, we all know that, I still see him occasionally at oakwell, but he had a chance to play higher, and it was the right move for him and the club. 3m is a hell of a lot for a full back who has played half a season for a struggling 2nd tier team.

    Thought it was 1.5.

    still had we held on to stones for 3 years, think you would have been moaning had we sold him for 2.5m

    I agree we didn't get enough for stones, but he hadn't been in the team very long. Maguire is a first team regular and has been for a while. He's their best player
