A) How can you possibly know this? B) What actually gives you this impression? Strange, strange comment.
We've left our business to late. It's great signing three players in two days like we did last week but ideally, we would have wanted them in before Italy. I understand transfer fees are normally later deals but most of our transfers could have been done at an earlier date as I'm sure the future one could have as well. Saying that, I know we had to wait for a number of players to get off the wage bill as well as the O'Grady transfer money.
Not to get too caught up in hyperbole or overly critical but I'd say the OP has a point. Our transfer business has been quite strong and we've spent more money than any of our rivals. However we have left things very Kate and are still 5/6 players away from having a competitive squad with only a few days left before the season starts.
Reece Brown and Joe Dudgeon should be signed today or tomorrow and we're more prepared than a lot of other L1 clubs. But I guess it wouldn't be the same if there was nothing to moan about...
I don't think it matters that the transfer business is late, so long as it's the right business for us.
