Why is there all this fuss about getting a new scoreboard instead of using the money for new signings? I'm pretty sure you can remember what the score is while you're at the game even if the scoreboard isn't working properly. And I for one would much rather look at the old scoreboard when we're winning than look at a new scoreboard when we're losing
We've had loads of threads about this but here goes. Putting up a new scoreboard wouldn't cost the club a penny. It would be paid for with the revenue brought in by businesses that would want to advertise their company on there. We brought in a new guy to work commercially who I would like to think has been approaching companies about them getting involved in the venture. Having a smart new scoreboard would also make us look more like a professional football club. The current one Athersley Rec and Aquaforce would be too embarassed to even use at their level. Maybe someone can bring it up to Mansford tonight as he's been talking about us getting a new scoreboard for the past 12 months and we seem no closer. I hope it's not another quietly dropped idea to add to the many many others over the years (Raffle tickets to sponsor the north stand anybody?).
Scoreboard would last longer than another signing, cos this scoreboard aint gunna leave by mutual consent by looks on it.
So the company that supplies and fits the scoreboard would do so for nothing and wait until the advertisers (who are apparently queuing up to give us money) have paid up in full, and the person employed to bring those advertisers to the club has brought in enough revenue to cover his wages, before they get their money? It must be nice living in a world where business is so easy, you must be a multimillionaire if this is how easy cash-flow is for you. There are plenty of other priorities at the moment.
Exactly. It's ridiculous with our financial position. If we had sponsorship for that (which I'd be amazed by) then surely the club would take it on to stop the whinging about a bloody scoreboard.
