Down their throat on mainstream TV relating to Israel and Gaza. Having kept an eye on this story since it broke, and I know some of you might not like Russell Brand, but **** me the 'anchor' on Fox News should be sacked for the way he has acted, rather than given more time to spew his uneducated bile. The interview initially what Brand is commenting on is appalling. The link below is the latest from the Huffington Post, but if you get the chance the videos are a great watch. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/07/31/russell-brand-gaza-sean-hannity-fox-news_n_5636947.html
It just goes to show how far the population has been brainwashed by the ultra right wing news media if NBC and Huffington Post are considered left thing
All the MSM here is left-wing biased and until very recently, they all gave Obama a pass on everything. They have improved a little, but not enough. Fox is the only right-wing outlet and everyone wails about it because it differs from the other MSM outlets, and doesn't support Obama. There is no middle of the road. No meaningful investigative reporting. It's all propaganda, one way or another. Obama has complained many times that Fox does not support him. He even tried to get federal oversight into the MSM operations to control the news. He now won't let the press into many of his events. The only stories are distributed from his own personal journalists. Most MSM over here is on a par with Pravda. The land of the free, and all that.
Most of the newsmedia in the USA is "liberal" i.e. left-wing and as pointed out above Fox is the only right-wing news channel.
It is misleading to say that American news is biased and right-wing when that's only Fox News which is very much the exception to the rule.
Fox News is ridiculous, he should've mentioned the ethnic cleansing that the Isreali's are on with to see what reaction that'd get off the presenter. It's not like Britain's that much better though. The coverage we get is disgusting. There's Palestinian kids dying every day & barely gets a mention. One Isreali soldier is captured and it's headline news. Luckily we've got social media these days so we can see what's really going on. The BBC & ITV have been a disgrace throughout all this. Luckily Channel 4 have given us some truthful coverage.
I think initially you are right, our media was very pro Israel however over the last few weeks it has been far more balanced, I dont know what caused that shift. Even Politicians rhetoric have changed dramatically, so I am not sure whether that caused the media shift or the other way around.
The BBC are usually on the Palestinian side but during this conflict they have tried hard to see the conflict from both sides. And now people see this as the BBC being pro-Israeli, because they're not biased for a change?
The BBC is pro Israel. It may show Palestinian suffering, as it should, but this does not equal being pro Palestinian. It follows Government policy, which arms and supports Israel. When did you last hear an interviewer ask a politician, "Palestinians have the right to self defense against Israeli attacks, don't they? Never. Not once. Yet when Palestinian rockets are launched, causing in most cases little damage and no deaths, they go into overdrive talking about how Israel" has the right to defend itself" to justify the massive Israeli onslaught. Only then (and only most recently) does the question pop up, and "Is this proportionate? Perhaps Israel are going too far" But again this is placed in the context that Palestinians are ultimately to blame for defending what land they have left. Can anyone here imagine supporting a UK government that bombed and invaded Dublin on the pretext of stopping IRA car bombs?
