Sounds like it may be this Gary McKay Stevens lad. We tend to eventually get the players we want even if first and second bids are rejected. We would know if the player wants to come - ala winnall, berry and hourihane. Can see it being seen as an investment. Get him down here for £500k fee we got for COG, much younger, more potential to sell on and will compliment what we have nicely. Got a feeling it could be him. Or Hesky....!
I really just can't see it somehow. With the teams who have been linked and the fact I think it will take at least half a mil to even be able to discuss terms, then for him to sign for a league 1 club? Just seems too much of a stretch for me.
It would be a surprise I agree, and show some real intent. Would need to be sure that we are on the up and he will see our record for players moving on and upwards - butterfield, stones, vaz te, Hamill all came, developed and got. Move to higher clubs I'm prob off mark as haven't guessed one transfer right. But am hopefull. Would be a wow from me.
Could be GMS. Didn't someone say they were meeting someone in the north - West this week? Easy to get there from Dundee
Yep danny and Ben went up tues or wed I think I read. Could be wrong. On twitter there are rumours that Rotherham bid £600k for him this week. Guess we'll all have to wait and see!! Exciting times either way!
It would be a fantastic signing and a real showing of ambition, something the club has really lacked in the last few years. It probably just needs that one big signing for us to start to be competitive, not just at this level but above. We haven't really splashed the cash since Iain Hume, and I think that could be the reservations the club have had, because we never got to see that potential.
He'd be a good signing but not a wow signing. A wow signing to me is someone who signs and we think how the heck have we managed that. Someone with plenty of premiership experience, maybe some international experience and known to have been on huge wages over the years. Heskey would fit the bill.

Heskey is past it and has been for years so yes it would get a lot of attention signing him but I can't imagine him exactly ripping League 1 up whereas this Mackay-Steven guy looks to have real potential and I would take that over a big name judging on some of the "bigger" names we've had in recent seasons.
