He was obviously riled by the tackle, hardly surprising, it was a shocker, but did he actually strike their player? If he did, fair enough, it's a red card, but I didn't see that, he barely even shoved him, just squared up to him.
I saw nothing of the sort. Looked an awful challenge from where I was sat. Jennings, appeared to grab him and drag him up, clearly annoyed as you would be. Saw no punch, head but it anything else worthy of a red card. Ref was poor all game.
He retaliated by gerrin up off the floor kinda sharpish for him and then pushing their player with both hands at the same time around shoulder height I thought it was a yellow card. Red card didn`t suprise me either. I was in a minority at the game that I do realise.
On twitter that Wilson says he grabbed him by the throat and was stupid. Cost us the game Also says deserved to be sent off
Hmm I was expecting a yellow card because that's what refs usually give when one player completely takes out another and the flattened player gets up annoyed. I don't agree but they usually give a yellow each I was ever expecting a red and don't think even a yellow is warranted for the fouled player in those circumstances. But that happens several games every Saturday
Jennings grabbed him by the throat,it happened straight in front of us.What he should have done was roll around like drogba or somebody because that crawley tw@t would have been sent off.
I reckon he's got a nice hotel booked for August bank holiday weekend, I think he went there last August as well.
Danny never said that.He said Jennings put his hands on the Crawley player around shoulder height and the decision was soft.
He raised his hands grabbed and pushed the lad by his neck or chin. It's a red card to a ref with no brains or balls. I think Dale was pissed off anyway as he hadn't beaten him all game.
Their player should have been sent off for the challenge where his studs went into Jennings. That ref again had no kahounas. Shocking decision ... We should appeal but as always add BFC we won't
The ref made alot of weird decisions but that wasn't one of them. Refs these days give yellow cards for next to nothing, so whatever the retaliation was is going to get a worse punishment than normal. Dale was probably annoyed with himself that he was on his arse twice just before the challenge and had another poor performance (good shot aside) despite dropping a league to play weaker opposition.
It was nothing worse than we'll see another 100 times this season all of which will go unpunished. A ridiculous sending off in my opinion however we know what refs can be like so why give them an opportunity to spoil the game.
That's the thing - he gave the ref a decision to make. He shouldn't have done that, but having done so, he can't then complain when he doesn't like the refs interpretation. He's got to be more professional than that, and then the ref wouldn't have had the chance the make an unpopular decision and he would have finished the game.
Agree with that. Pushed him in the chest with both hands. Definate yellow and can't complain about the red.
We were discussing that at the game and said there is no way that a retaliation red card like that would ever get overturned as the league would effectively be endorsing the retaliation. it really is not worth it.
