Never been sacked mark Robins was talking to john Brechin about this other day he dosent want a sacking on his CV so jumps ship. Just like he did here knew he couldn't compete on the new budjet so left the club. Must have had an inkling he was on thin ice.
They were very poor in the second half of last season but its a strange decision to say the least. Wonder if he fell out with the board over his vision of the future?
Been poor in the second half of every season with every team he has managed. Towns early season form has saved them 2 years running
There seem's to be a very familiar pattern emerging with his managerial career. I get the feeling robin's perceive's himself has a manager who deserve's to have million's of pound's bestowed on him by various club owner's, and when he doesn't get what he think's his managerial talent's deserve he throw's the toys out and bugger's off
He probably had a long term strategy that involved spending loads of money and turning a **** team into an expensive **** team.
Not wrong there...... Quit Rotherham to manage us. Quit us because he got monk on about the budget. Quit Huddersfield before he was pushed. Family were telling me yesterday it was the most negative atmosphere at an opening season match they have ever known. Fans leaving with 25 minutes to go, lots of booing and you don't know what ya doing chants. Maybe blindly with some clubs but every set of fans is optimistic going into a new season with a clean slate. Bobins ruined it in less than a minute. He's a born quiter and no chairman in their right mind would offer him another managers job.
I suspect what happened was the owner told him he wasn't getting any more budget, so he left on the basis that the club 'didn't match his ambition'.
Daft decision to let him have the summer which is essentially now wasted bit like when we allowed Simon Davey to have the summer then sacked him after a few games of the new season.
Robins best spells were at the two clubs with next to no budget, Rotherham and Coventry. So it's strange really.
He quit Coventry as well to go to Huddersfield...just before all the saga started with them moving to Northampton - he obviously knows when the time is to quit!
