Well, he's in this league for a reason. As is every relegated player. If he was that good, there would have been more interest than the disaster club that wasted his time and prevented him going on the Italian trip. He wisely dodged a 3rd CV relegation there, I reckon. To me Martin was THE enigma player of last season. He appears to have it all to the untrained eye, but is it Paddy style surface gloss or is there a genuinely good, useful footballer in there? I know Shackell's a nob, but maybe he has that fck you attitude and single mindedness that a player needs to succeed. Something I believe Martin is missing and stops him hitting the levels everything else suggests he could. Some folk would argue that there isn't much between Shackell and himself in terms of quality. But the fact they are now playing two divisions apart, tells you everything you need to know.
