When Mansford made his comments about recruiting early and being competitive and so on, he did not, at any point say that we had or offload certain players first. Quite the opposite in fact.

People might say I find fault in everything BFC does, but other people make excuses and attempt to justify everything the club does.

of course hes not going to admit we're a bit short and we've got to sell to buy, you just get an idea in your head and then that's it no matter whats said to you. it was more or less said from day 1 we had to offload to get rid of the big earners to free cash up, a lot of the players who came available were weighing up their options and as much as I love bfc I cant see us being the top of their lists. My lord I cannot believe on August 10th same old posters are still whinging about BM not having a full squad in by start of June!!! FFS This despite us assembling one of most exciting squads potentially in a number of years.

No matter what the club do they will just never wipe out this negative vibe that certain fans have.

What he actually said though was that we would have a competitive budget for League One. With Chris O'Grady, Tom Kennedy & Luke Steele still here that would be nearly £1 million a year taken up of that budget. They've gone, we've loosened the purse strings a bit more and the signings started coming in. I'd imagine you'd be the first to complain if we were overspending and signing players on good contracts that weren't good enough.
