See my reply to myself Loko. I think the modern part is the speed in which it all happens with the internet. I have seen the jokes on occasions before I have heard the story they are based on!

I don't think it's an entirely modern phenomenon, but it has increased with the spread of mobiles/internet etc. But then again so has "mourning sickness" and some people's need to express grief over anything that could be considered sad regardless of whether or not they are actually emotionally affected by it. Someone could probably write an interesting study examining both aspects.

FAOD this is not a comment about Williams specifically or suggesting anyone on here is being false in their sentiments, I know that his work has a broad appeal and means a lot to many people (myself included). It's just that I often see some people (on facebook particularly) posting cloyingly sentimental things just for the sake of being "caring".

I stand by my earlier comment regarding brightness.

 

Is it? Oh. Well then, she's obviously allowed some of these 'weirdos' to follow her. Again, I refer back to the brightness or indeed lack of.

And whilst we are here, regards twitter, I've just read that Emannuel Frimpong has been discarded by Sturm Graz. Didn't make the grade. Shock/horror.

Most definitely lying. Among other tweets she made a further joke later on about 'attention seeking like Mrs Doubtfire'. It made little sense though.

i honestly dont know what this world is coming to when folk so easily take folk to task for their throw away comments.
wonder how many who are quick to jump on the bandwagon can honestly say they at no time have ever come out or repeated joke type

i shake my head in disbelieve ....lighten up .

And picking an argument with a new young player's girlfriend helps the club in what way? With the move and everything she's probably feeling a bit vulnerable anyway.

 

Arr but look at her, with her pouty smile and make up on. Who does she think she is ? The good old welcoming internet tarn fans will soon put her in her place.

 

I find the joke insensitive and unfunny. But my main reason for posting was its a slow day at work and I was interested to see what the reaction would be.
