I can't disagree with that Nortyke. Football fans give out awful stick and then get all precious if any player dares to give it back.

I think considering the way he stole wages last season the abuse he got was very mild, in fact I can't remember him being singled out for any abuse but I'm not on Twitter so I don't read the posts.

I had no problem with him picking me up on calling him lazy and having given up on being a footballer last season, though I didn't tweet him directly so he'd searched his name looking for it. I thought his tweet yesterday was strange as he was apparently revelling in his own failure and that of his mates.

Agreed. Football fans used to be able to take it. These days they're just looking for a reaction so they can go crying to PC Plod.

The irony of this situation can't be anything but amusing. Football fans get upset after footballer responds to their tweets about him being a lazy w@nker etc etc.

I'd think it was funny if I got a bite from somebody, I wouldnt think he/she was bang out of order. To be fair I dont really use twitter apart from sharing silly messages with TFP.

I know you all love football and it takes over your lives, but its not really that important, really its not.

Let's get back to telling young women how much make-up they should wear.

I'm not really bothered about what he posts online.

What bothers me is that a 'professional' footballer felt the need to spend the rest of the season sulking & under performing because he was played out of position on the left wing for a few games.

    Pathetic

the twitter lot do make me chuckle. spend most of their natural lives gratuitously abusing people from the other side of a keyboard, on the basis that it's 'freedom of opinion'. then squeal like stuck pigs, as soon as a footballer has a bite back with a silly picture.

    man the **** up! :)

I contacted Blackpool and they are aware of the tweet and have had disgussions with the player and have advised him not to post on twitter about teams/players in future
