I think it's going too far mate blaming cranie on the Ebola outbreak when it's obviously Wiseman that's the cause
ah come on mate. TK has finally gone, you don't have to move onto someone else. there's other people on this board, who do that perfectly well
"Scapegoats are totally wrong. Unless they're someone I don't like. Then they're fair game and allowed."
Having an opinion that Cranie isn't a good defender and more of a midfielder isn't an agenda. I've received plenty of messages since last night and all of them say he was ***** again last night. Best defender in the division folk keep saying. I disagree, and I'm not alone in thinking like this. But no, lets attack a young lad making his first start playing in a foreign position, as I predicted. I was reight about TK and Wisey. I'm reight again on Cranie. And, had we been able to find him a club he wouldn't be here, but only a desperate Blackpool fancied him but paying their players no more than 5k a week probably persuaded him to stay and be the rock at the heart of our defence. No agenda, and he's no defender.
Not scapegoating anybody. I said that in my opinion he was poor on Saturday. I am led to believe he was no better last night. End of the day, Kev, thar really rates him, so you perpetuate this myth that I've got it in for him whenever I say he's had a poor game. I suppose you've got me bang to rights on RNL, who I defend to the hilt even if he plays badly. So we're both as bad as each other.
I didn't rate TK, nor Wiseman. I do rate Cranie, but as a midfielder preferably. But if he plays **** and I see it, I'll point it art because well, we do dunt we? I can only reiterate my point from last night and that's lets start playing other forwards at full back, see how they get on. And midfielders in defence. It's barmy. Round pegs in round holes. If you think you've better round pegs, then let the other move on and stop trying to make him into summat he int. That goes for Cranie and RNL.
I must be the only one that thought nearly everyone was absolutely awful. Only people I have good words about are Bailey (Who is the only one that seems to be able to play off one-touch) and McHale who was trying to commit defenders. I get the whole thing about RNL and I do believe there is a player in there somewhere and I also agree he shouldn't be played at full back/wing back but even when he had the ball further up the pitch he doesn't look to take anyone on or give it inside and try run in behind one of their players, they're all so static and unfit which makes absolutely no sense because against Hull they looked the opposite. I also disagree about Cranie, think on Saturday he intercepted the ball a good 4-5 times from their strikers before they had the time to shield it. I also agree with Whitey that he'd be better in midfield but at centre half he's still better than Nyatanga and M'Voto. I want all of them to do well and prove me wrong and i've not written anyoe off yet, the players or Danny and i'll be there at Oakwell come hell or high water but they've really disappointed me in these last 3-4 days. I was expecting a more attacking Barnsley that yes might ship more goals than we'd like but we'd also score a lot more and make a lot more chances. I think i've been at the edge of my seat twice in two games and that's not good enough in this division with our younger and supposedly vibrant players. If we were in the Championship i'd accept it as I did last year when week after week a team that were just all round better than us (some exceptions obviously) came and beat us with ease. But yeah I never thought that after two home games we wouldn't have scored and last night in my opinion Crewe didn't batter us scoreline wise but their agility, their sharpness and their imagination was streets ahead of ours and we can't blame the age because all their team are younger than ours.
Played out of position? He played his best game last season in this position. I'm sure that you called for him to play in that position regularly. He didn't as we all know for whatever reason. I want him to come good but when he usually costs us a goal when he plays or fails to do anything remotely useful how long do we keep persisiting with him for? He is too muscle bound for me, he can't run. Don't disagree about Cranie either. Just don't rather him, at centr half at least. Too soft.
Thanks for telling me how he played last night even though I saw for myself, Andy, much appreciated. I'm a fan of his, no secret about that, but I'm not blinded by it if he has a poor game. However, I'll praise him when he or any other player plays well without finding a need to add a snidey or sneery footnote about his performance. Also, I believe you're wrong about Cranie and it bothers me not one jot who agrees with you. Friends like Redstar, Mr C & madmark will attest to this, as they all agree with your opinion. I'm simply sticking up for one of our players when I feel he's faced with undue, persistent & undeserved criticism. No difference to you with the likes of Bobby Hassell, RNL and Luke Steele.
I stand by my assessment and have seen nothing to prove otherwise. Just expressing my opinion. Nothing personal and no agenda here, mate
Always said he's a striker/number 10. Always. But yes, if we were to be using wingbacks I said I'd have stuck him there under Flicker because I saw him do well there against Hull and Huddersfield. The only other option was TK, so..... But his best position is behind or alongside a striker. He likes to get the ball quickly out of his feet and shoot for goal. Bit like Scotland used to do. It's okay saying 'persisting' with him, but that was his first start since we beat Yeovil and Reading wasn't it, when he played well? Think fitness plays a part though, looks short of it apparently, and I do agree that his demeanor seems off. Needs to be more enthusiastic, more positive. But then, I suppose I'd struggle with confidence if my manager moved me to another department. I'm bored of the subject. Suppose he'll be dropped not to be seen again for weeks, as usual. Which is partly the reason he struggles. Some players need games, a proper run to find that confidence. He also picks up knocks too often, again, could be down to him being asked to play here, there and everywhere and in fits and starts. If we're not prepared to use him where he's capable of playing, get shut. Can't be clearer than that.
Exactly. The overwhelming majority reckon he was **** again last night. As was RNL apparently. So again, we're both as bad as each other. It's my birthday anyway, so I'm reight. End of Fred.
The overwhelming majority? Aye, alreight(!) Seriously, it's your birthday? Many Happy Returns, mate and have a great day.
It is indeed, I'm 21 again and spending it arguing with folk on the internet. What a life! And cheers.
Debating, Andy, debating. Just because we don't agree on something doesn't mean I don't like and respect you, mate. I hope you have a great day and now it'll be easier for you & the family to watch Jacob play.
