Is he the guy that was smoking and was really over weight until his 20's and has only been running since he gave the slob lifestyle up?
One misplaced 'e' and I look like I know **** all about athletics, which of course I don't. A bit like football.
Curiosity got the better of me. This is the 40 year old bloke I was referring to:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/dietandfitness/11007009/Running-tips-from-fat-bloke-Steve-Way.html
I'm looking forward to the first month of the season where none of us recognise a single player in the team and we're all shouting the wrong names at the wrong players, our vast football knowledge on full display. We've got so many new players I doubt I'll be able to put names to faces until January and then we'll sell 'em all and get a new lot in. The bloke you were thinking about was Steve Way. Pretty inspiring stuff. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/get-inspired/27994073
I'm looking forwards to the usual kick off supplement in the chronicle just so I can put names to faces and at least give the impression I know something. There is a bloke who sits a couple if rows behind us who still gets the names wrong in May. A player can be having his game of the season yet he still hurls abuse at him in a way that suggests he's talking about somebody else. Its a bit like the twilight zone for him between 15:00 and 17:00 on a Saturday afternoon.
It's the way she never gives up I particularly like. When the 3 Kenynans went past her on the last lap I was sure when was going to miss out on a medal. Any normal person would have thought that Kenyans running away on the last lap of a distance race is game over but not our Jo she gritted her teeth and hung in and somehow got back past one and so nearly got a second one and a silver
Not sure if posted but did anyone notice she won Gold in the Europeans as well wonder if she will make Rio at 42?
Apart from the last lap it's a pretty dull race, slow pace all in a bunch. The last lap is brilliant and that's on the BBC website as well an in interview with Jo. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/athletics/28766153 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/athletics/28762734
Interview with her on Five Live this morning and she said she was hoping to compete at Rio. Said she hadn't given it much thought until last few weeks when she realised she could still compete.
Thanks for that, hadn't seen it. The way she kicks with about 80m left and leaves the other for dead!
