    Who do we want?

I personally think we could do with an experienced forward to hold ball up...
Two names spring to mind who may be realistic...

    Jon stead
    Gary Taylor-Fletcher

Both experienced lads who can lead the line, link up play and score goals...

Doubt he would leave the team he supports and score lots of goals for to come to Barnsley somehow.

Taylor-Fletcher never been a target man. Played out wide most of his career.

Can't afford Pope. Taylor Fletcher is an attacking midfielder, Heskey is both laughable and *****. Probably will be someone we've never heard of and all the better for that.

He's at Forest Green, signed a one year contract in the middle of last month.

I'd take Jon Stead. Never fancied him here before but I think he'd suit us perfectly now. He's not a great goalscorer but that's not really what we need. We're lacking someone with that quality touch upfront who can bring the ball down hold it and lay it off - a macken, Tudgay or Gray type.

Looking at players without a contract, dare I say Rory Fallon worth a trial. Keogh a target man?

Craig Davies is not a target man. His touch is atrocious.

Would be a very good signing. Been linked with the blunts already.

Personally don't think we need a target man, just need to play the ball into the feet of the strikers we have
