It shouldn't need explaining, but here goes. You claimed your squad was better than ours, the reason for this being that ours contained Kennedy and Dawson.

It's right here: "Anyway a squad that currently contains Dawson, Kennedy et al is not currently as good as the one Rochdale have."

You now have Kennedy and Dawson in your squad. Unless you've had your sense of humour surgically removed, that's funny. In all sorts of ways. So, a bit of ribbing coming your way was bound to happen. You're in an indefensible position. Only way out of that with your dignity still in tact and for the piss taking to stop is to admit defeat on this one, summat along the lines of: "Doh! Made a bit of a tit myself there. Ah well, onwards and upwards, we'll see how the season pans out for us both."

But no, you give us some waffle about god knows what and proclaim yourself the victor. "In short, keep dragging up old threads. I'll always have an answer." So now it's got really funny because not only has summat come back to bite you on the arse (it happens to all of us, believe me) instead of admitting as such, you're still battling. It's desperate and it's funny. You clearly haven't got the answer and we've all pulled up a chair and got out the pop corn waiting for what bizarre thing you're going to say next. For your own sake mate, admit defeat on this one, quit while you're well behind and come back on a debate that you actually have chance of making a valid point.

 

Our squad then was better than the one you had that contained the likes of Dawson, Kennedy et al.

Our squad now containing the likes of Dawson, Kennedy et al is of a pretty similar standard, although actually with the signing of a proven scorer like Lita you're now better off (really not sure on Winnall, wasn't last season either - doesn't contribute enough when not scoring). We need a striker in, pretty much everyone agrees on that.

Things changed, remarkably I've no problem with admitting that. At the moment my opinion on Dawson and Kennedy as players is exactly what it was back then. Things may change again.

 

I will stop teasing now feels so cruel. Kennedy and excellent in the same sentence. First time for everything. He was occasionally adequate as a player n a central 3 but generally terrible. I suspect we have different standards around what constitutes a good player given your admiration of Matty Done...

You see, what's happening here is you're trying to have a serious debate on something we just think is a bit of a laugh. None of us have any idea how well our teams are going to perform this year. After seeing the way we played on Tuesday, I'm pretty confident Barnsley are going to play some good football. I'm happy with the direction our club is going in. However, I don't know if that will mean success this season. I don't know if we'll finish higher up the league than you. I've even less idea how Rochdale will perform than I have Barnsley. All I do know at the moment is that you telling us that we're crap because we've got players like Kennedy and Dawson, only for Rochdale to sign them 3 months later is very funny. Nowt you say is going to change that.

I merely wished to express why that or the signings of the two players really don't affect my well being. Which I chose to express with a serious view on their arrival and where they may fit in. In future I'll post a smiley of general hilarity, or get really REALLY ANGRY.

 

Aye. It was a great season, he scored 2 crackers v us too. But apart from that he was hardly involved. (checked he got the second great goal at their place, thought it was Syers.)

Maybe the sort of player we need right now, but it's rare we have a player exclusive to scoring. Definitely a player to play in a front two.

 

Have you any relatives in West Yorkshire? You remind me of someone that could not ever understand he was not right about everything and took everything too serious !

You've got two strikers who find scoring rare. Winnall scored more last season (whilst doing bugger all else) than Andrew has in his ten year career.
