    All weekend mate.

Hearts vs. Hibs starts soon, then it's the Southampton derby.

People on here (and in Barnsley in general) seem to have a hatred for anyone who has done well in life. Why not be happy for others' success and try and strive to work towards doing that yourself, rather than insulting people because they're better off than you?

I agree...I think sky is a top product for sports fans. Good luck to Murdoch or whoever runs it.

....plus Kate Abdo, Olivia Wayne and Natalie Sawyer are top notch (in that order)

It's owner avoids personal tax. It avoids corporation tax. It has systematically destroyed ideas of fairness within football and consequently ruined it for normal people. Promoting vastly inflated salaries for average players leading to debt ridden clubs prospering. Murdoch attacked the miners viciously throughout the 80s through his papers and football fans, for example the Hillsborough headlines.

I value success but not without regards to morality.

Murdoch isn't to blame for how clubs spend money they are given. That's like saying if someone is an alcoholic or drug addict it's the fault of their boss for paying money to that person to choose to spend it on whatever they want.

Without the input of Sky none of that would be possible. Sky have deliberately and aggressively promoted the premier league at the expense of the football league.

No. They have pormoted what the viewers want to watch. Neutrals dont want to watch the football league, and the prem teams have more fans than football league. It's a smart business decision to show the premiership...

Do you really think that Sky gives people what they want...or do they create a product that they can market then influence all parts of culture to promote that product. Supply to create demand is Murdoch's role model throughout his businesses. Dumb down culture. Destroy history. Avoid tax. Avoid responsibility. If people want to pay money towards a man that is destroying our club then that's up to them it's not my business really.

Have Starbucks destroyed coffee and coffee drinking, by not paying tax either.mIf you don't have Sky fine, but don't try ramming it down the throats of those that do, and like the product.

Let's embrace something that has completely changed football for the worse and has a direct and substantial negative effect on Barnsley FC and clubs like us. Aye alright.

Don't go to Starbucks either or any of the other tax avoiders. See Mario's comments below why supports summat that has a massively detrimental impact on the club you support.

I accept ure viewpoint guys and you are free to do as you fit. I like sky sports and don't really give a **** that someone is making millions and millions out of it. I work full time and choose to watch it in my leisure time as coro noro and all the shlte soaps don't do it for me. I have given bfc 315 quid for this season and they can do what they want wi it.

At the end of the day, it may be immoral etc but I am only on this earth for another 40 years (maximum and probably not that long). I aint gunna change the world in that time and don't really want to sit in my living room twiddling my thumbs for that long, just for the sake of £25 a month.

I'd only end up watching fekking holby city and casualty and would rather watch sport to be honest.....personal choice I guess.

note to MK.....good win for 'pool today :)

To think that if it were not for Sky we'd all have free access to live televised football every week is naive in the extreme.

    1. There was little live televised football prior to Sky, then again only having 4 channels didn't give the luxury for TV companies to devote so much time to it.
    2. If it wasn't Sky covering it on subscription then it would be some other company - look how ESPN and now BT Sport moved in.
    3. The whole notion that you should get live football for free, particularly when it's people who don't attend games, is ridiculous. People want a quality product but don't think that they should have to pay for it.
