I doubt it DW extended his contract in January until Summer 2016, he gave him a few opportunities last season and I think he was going to be a bencher this season, brought on late in games and also good cover for injuries. He started first game due to us not concluding our team building and the injury to Hemmings. IMO the games he had at Bury last season have whetted his apetite and he wants more of that and he has far more chance to be involved regular there than here. Good luck to him and I hope he bangs em in for fun. Hope we have secured a decent fee and added clauses for any sell ons.
Should be a six figure sum and around a 25% sell on surely. It's a shame another youngster with promise hasn't proved himself to be good enough. But Nana for his age already looks better than Rose and we move on as a club.
Quite sad - I've watched him I since he was 16 and thought he might make with us. He is an out and out finisher, he can't beat a man and can't hold the ball up. I think played in a certain system he will score goals and that may attract offers at a higher level but I don't think he will make Championship level. Football managers have to make tough decisions sometimes and this may have been done to release cash for another signing. Allegedly he is quite hotheaded and may not have seen eye to eye with Danny W.
I think Danny is scraping the bottom of his war chest, i recon he is coppering up so he can bring someone else in.
How as he not proved himself good enough? How many games has he played.? How the **** should it be a six figure sum and whats the use of a sell on clause if tha thinks he`s crap.
Someone came on here the other day who seemed to know what he was talking about (he said it was a three year deal when reports were saying loan) and he said exactly that. We wanted to keep him, he wanted to go, we were surprised by his decision. It's always a shame when a player doesn't work out, particularly one who has come through the Academy, but I haven't seen anything from Rose to suggest that he was about to become a first team regular for us. Hopefully it will work out for him at Bury.
Numerous managers have deemed him not worthy of regular game time. Guys who watch him play developmental games, pre season games, everyday in training with attitude/application etc. If they are bidding six figures for an Accrington Stanley player we should be getting same. The sell on clause is to cover ourselves. He could have had an hat trick at Halifax but didn't score. Maybe if he'd have taken at least one of his decent chances he'd have grown in confidence and pushed on. But we can't wait forever for this potential we hear so much of to come off.
He's made 7 sub appearances and scored 4 goals in League 2, he's 20 year old. Sam Winnall's scored 23 goals in 43 apps at the same level, he's 23 year old and not done much else in his career apart from a good loan spell at Burton. Rose could go on this season to score more than 23 goals at that level. Should have been a season long loan.
Numerous managers have had cash/or the nod to bring in their own strikers thats why our young uns aint been gerrin game time. They have all played lip service to the youngsters exept for the token gesture from each of em and seeing Stones only play 23 games shows what some our past managers are about. If Danny had money to spend then I doubt we would be seeing as many of the nips being involved.
The lad's decision to take the opportunity put in front of him. Not that it's going to stop folk bairning at the club. Good luck to him, I hope he does very well for Bury and for himself in his future career. I'll be keeping an eye on him as I do every lad who leaves us.
Danny Rose will have looked at the situation - Lita, Winnall, Hemmings all in front of him.....and then Danny Wilson saying he is looking for another striker/target man with strong physical attributes (which Rose does not have). The lad was not going to get many opportunities, so at some point had to make a decision to move and play football, with Bury and David Flitcroft being a good fit for him. I don't think there is much more to the story to be honest and wish him good luck.
Danny hasn't gone because he wanted to leave though, he's gone because he doesn't think he'll get a chance here. Even Flitcroft acknowledges this
Ben Mansford's audio explains it more http://audioboo.fm/boos/2403707-ben-mansford-on-rose-departure Apparently the money was close to Winnall deal plus sell on clauses.
He's 4th choice striker - when all are fit. The problem is, it doesn't look likely Hemmings will be fit for a while. It seems like he's taken the opportunity to leave rather than he's been pushed out. We've got a good deal, he's obviously happy to move on, let's get on with it.
Listen to Bens Audioboo posted on here - it sounds like Bury gave us a decent offer and we asked Danny if he wanted to stay or go - so it ultimately was his decision - according to Ben. Though it was only after the club had decided it was a deal they could accept
Ben said it was comparable with what we Paid for Winnall, with a significant sell on. So that's around £250k with 20-25% sell on, that for someone who's still never fully broken into the first team is a cracking deal. Now stop moaning and get behind the rebuild. YOU REDS.
Are you being thick, or just ignored the rest of that sentence you've quoted? "The lad's decision to take the opportunity put in front of him."
