"Despite media hype, this Club is not breaking the bank or paying silly wages to secure new players, but with the Chairman’s commitment to the future of this club transparent we are now attracting the quality of player needed to deliver on the pitch. Danny is the latest addition to a top quality squad that want to play for Bury Football Club and deliver their best to the fans." Love how these "undisclosed" fees come out, they may as well just say the figure. Like Big Sam did...
I genuinely fear for Bury. I initially liked Flitcroft, his comments were a bit cringeworthy, but it was easy to get caught up in what happened at the back end of the season we stayed up. The passion was in stark contrast to seeing Hill beaten and dejected waiting to be sacked. But as time wore on, it was blatantly obvious he didn't really have a clue once the tubthumping ended.... and wasted vast amounts of money for our football club. He's now in Div 2 where resource is even more precious and he's signing his friends again and people he knows, clearly with cost attached to them. I hope he does well, and really hope Danny Rose does too. But i do fear another chairman is going to have to cover a black hole if it doesn;t go according to plan.
I know what you're saying about Flicker signing his "mates" and time will only tell whether this is a true reflection, or, that Danny Rose bangs a load of goals in and secures promotion for Bury. I really do hope the latter.
