Other than is kicking he was fantastic IMO

Kept us in the game first half and pulled some great saves second half

    Credit to the lad

There is no question he's going to be a great keeper

Seems to be getting better game by game...still young for a keeper at what 22 ?...still needs a lot of work, but I agree will be a good keeper for years to come.

I'll have to completely disagree with the comment on him being fantastic.

Slow off his line for both goals, no presence from crosses, and poor distribution.

Coventry obviously sussed that first half which is why the just continued to pelt crosses in all second half - and each time they did my heart was on it's arse!

Two or three good saves though as well to be fair, we just need a proper goalkeeper between the sticks who can command the situation. Experience is missing.

I disagree but that's what it's all about . The times he came out for crosses he was fouled and we got the free kick . Job done in my eye . 2 good finishes for Coventry goals . As for his distribution I do agree and find it hard to disagree with you on that .

Impressed with Davies last night as well. Kicking was very poor at times but he made some brilliant saves especially in the second half. Definitely improving as he plays more games.

Davies was brilliant I thought. Considering he'd never played a league game prior to crawley he's done very well.

All about opinions, but when you say 'he made some brilliant saves, especially in the second half', that's mainly down to the fact he didn't make any in the first half.

This is good experience for him and will stand him in good stead for the future when we call on him again, but the quicker we can Turnbull fit the better.

Yes I heard that as well and clowns is a good word for them

I must admit my view of Davies is he is not really ready yet - yet being the key word - there is no doubt he is a good shot stopper - he made several decent saves yesterday and was fairly blameless for the goals but he needs to command his area a lot more - not a great surprise as he hasnt played many games. He actually looked better to me last night than he did against Crawley so he is definitely moving in the right direction and is already a better keeper than Preece was in my view. He is a bit unlucky in that we dont have a commanding centre half either - if we had one crosses would be much less of a problem. I still would like to see Mvoto playing in front of him

We've already got a number 1, and a League One club with our budget can't and shouldn't keep on two 'first team' goalkeepers in case one of them gets injured. I think he's a great back-up keeper to have on the bench, and definitely one for the future.

I actually think that it's a great compliment to give a very young goalkeeper that I wouldn't be massively concerned if Turnbull got injured again later in the season. Davies has got weaknesses, but on his showings so far I don't think we'd be looking to dip into the emergency loan market should that happen.

Just one point on this - go ask the Donny fans what they think to be Turnbull's weakness.

They reckon he was a great shot stopper, but is awful at commanding his box/claiming crosses etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like him in goal as I expect him to be better than young Adam. But I don't think he's been at fault for any of the goals we've conceded and he's playing first team football for the first time this season. I've seen older/supposedly better keepers in our net and been less impressed.

My only real concern right now is right back. Unless we stick Bree there and give him a good run, I think we need to recruit a specialist. But then again, it's ten days into the season, maybe we're all judging players/displays a bit early?

    Re: good to hear

I'm sure he can after all Steele's kicking was far from perfect.

I couldn't understand why he has had so much stick early doors from some fans. He seems to gain more confidence with every game.
