Clearly Ben Mansford is trying to find the right balance for a fans forum that spreads the full spectrum, but he will never please everyone.

Personally, I believe Whitey (although never met him in person, yet) would be a good choice. He writes a hell of a lot about BFC and has a balanced view.

I can think of many other fans, not members of any Group or web based forum, who would also have a valuable input. Problem is.....how does the Club reach out to these fans and what sort of numbers does this forum require?

For me, the Forum would consist of:-

The Full Ponty, Whitey, Hemmsy, The Rev, Barnsley Jack, Kipper Jackson, Dancin Doris, Sid the Sailor Sweet Man and the Egg Man from Wombwell bottom market.

This spread of characters, collectively, would move Ben's strategy in the right direction.

Go balax whitey would be a good choice...I've met him, can't hold his beer, picks fights with old ladies and goes into shock when we lose to Crawley...and don't get me started on his attempt to eat a slightly warm growler,

An excerpt from my blog one month ago:

"However, if he reads this, there are so many ways in which you can get in touch with me, Ben. I'd be more than happy to have my opinion altered with hard facts. Because, I'm merely a supporter and we know very little in real terms. But we do pay our money.."

Disappointed not to be invited but not surprised. They don't like being told how it is.

They probably want people who can make positive suggestions rather than moaning and bairning at every little thing.

I bet Ben wishes we had Donnys shitty fan base sometimes then he could have invited them all and sat in one room.

**** me people care about the weirdest things. It's good to have some supporter engagement. It would be even better to have a fans representative group who were regularly consulted about issues and whose feedback was listened to. I genuinely hope that this is a small step in the process towards that.

Our long term future lies in being a community based community orientated club with deep roots and a real sense of involvement based around local pride and local chauvinism. If the post administration years have taught us anything they have shown us he not to run our club. Franchises that take, give nothing back, provide poor services and rip us off. That creating a non community based business model has been an absolute failure. That we can only thrive if we return to our original values. To pa

Now Ben as you would expect from a chap with his background sprinkles as much ***** as he does stardust. We should however commend his initiatives and support them. They are small steps but they are steps.

From my own point of view I am happy that people who support us have been asked to express a view. It's not something I'd be interested in attending or doing myself but it has value it's a starting point.

Genuinely didn't know, until I've just looked it up, the original meaning of chauvinism. I thought you were asking all us blokes to act superior to women. To be honest, we've plenty of that already.

Good old Nik Chauvin sounds like a Simon Davey signing. He shared common attributes with Scott Wiseman apparently.
