Ach its ok pal. Didna realise it wouldna work. It was just a wee vid of one of the first independence ballot papers being cast. (with a yes vote)
Maybe so mate, maybe so. But look around. Austerity measures being imposed upon us by millionare MPs, NHS being systematically dismantled, the poor being forced to use foodbanks in 2014, jobs being lost right left and centre and any saving being eroded away. TBH maybe it is Britain as a whole that is on it's arse.
Results of the first exit poll! Reminds me of when I was walking through the precinct back when the BNP used to campaign there and one of them shouted "in some areas of Barnsley, 1 in 3 people vote BNP", and as I was walking past I shouted back "Is that in your own house?"
Im envious of the sweaties, they got chance to get shut of this mob before us. If i were them id vote yes
Yes, but what makes you stand out from 75% of the rest of the UK there? Our NHS is pretty similar to yours, except I have to pay for my prescriptions, so I'd say that in certain respects you guys north of the border have been having the best of both worlds (the same as you're planning with defence really - "we don't want the trident, because it's expensive, but we're quite happy to join NATO and let countries with these weapons, say the UK, defend us for nowt!"). Anyway, I thought that the vote was more than Scotland trying to get rid of the Tories. And don't look for any sympathy there, because if Scotland is taken out of the equation us left behind are stuck with the Tories for many years to come.
What makes them stand out is that they have an opportunity to stop this happening, they can preserve their NHS whilst the Westminster government continue to dismantle it around the rest of the UK, they can reject spending on nuclear weapons....it works for many other NATO countries.
Erm they will be gone at the next election - they won't get a majority and no one's going to vote Lib Dems again following this last ConDemlition. Personally good bye if Scotland chose to go so be it. Don't be coming back begging when it goes tits up though.
And why would that be Gordon? We are all in this together. And yet the further north you travel the more left wing people seem to become. What has happened to the Labour party in England? You just have to look at the weak leadership they have at the moment. Miliband? What a weak willed individual he is. To me he possesses absolutely no socialist values whatsoever. Where are the Dennis Heally's, Harold Wilson's and Arthur Scargills of today? For me there is no one within the labour party to give good and proper leadership. Hence any easy passage to power to the Torries. Should this independence vote to to the no's I'd hope working class England can rise up and join Scotland in ousting this horrible lot that govern and savagely mistreat us all and consign them to history. How has it all gone so wrong?
I hope you're right, but don't share your confidence. Without the 59 Scottish MPs, only one of whom is a Tory, they would currently have a clear majority without the need for a coalition. It would take a fair old swing for Labour to become the majority party, even if they pick up the disillusioned Liberal voters or attempt to form a coalition with the Liberals themselves. Current non-Scottish MPs Tories - 304 Labour - 217 Liberals - 45 Others - 24
It's our only hope, so do the decent thing and think about the rest of us and vote no! Either that or help us find oil in Yorkshire.
stop trying to depress me, another term of the Tories or Milliband and his bunch of wnkers , either way if Scotland go, think I'll apply to emigrate!!
Borders have been moved about throughout Europe in post war years. Most recently Ukraine/Russia. So why not in GB? Draw a line S Yorkshire to the Mersey. Anything's possible. Call the new country anything you want as long as it's Tory free.
Ha Ha It gets worse for you. You'd all have to wear kilts, drink Irn Bru, eat deep fried mars bars and Emerdale will not be on the telly.
