cos they don't agree with everything WSB says......and remember folks its never BFC's fault....ever ever ever!! never read WSB..... but has good reviews so why doesn't the club invite their representatives? Maybe another reason is that WSB are not in the clique? hth
I've got a lot of time for the way the club is being run at the moment, but their decision to treat WSB as an enemy both baffles and annoys me. It's all a joke fellas, get over yourselves.
It was brought up in the thread Gally created asking for things to ask Mansford. But it was never answered in the write up Gally did. So either it didn't get asked or we aren't allowed to know the answer.
Neither do I, but I haven't raised £1000s for charity and sold 1000s of fanzines to Barnsley fans, reaching a much wider audience than any of the groups who had representatives invited.
It was lovely of Cunning Stunt's mam to nominate us. Chuffed. We've no chance of the final like but still, at least our Get Rammell On tshirt is in the paper.
Im of the opinion that they think WSB are a pain in the arse who shows them up at every opportunity, The WSB beat the club hands down from marketing, organisation, to getting badges and Tshirts made. WSB can organise and sell tickets for a bar thats failed previously and make it become a success. Basically when it comes to promoting the club, kid with a fanzine and a proper job (possibly) makes the club look like amateurs.
It's always been the same South Riding was barely tolerated and Spinksy tried to get me arrested for flogging Better Red Than Dead. Not sure what the issues were really. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Got to say they've done nothing to hamper what we do or got in our way so fair play. Now I just need to ask to start selling it in Redfearns...
Now I just need to ask to start selling it in Redfearns...[/QUOTE] Ha ha, good luck wi that more chance of it getting stocked int New Yorks Grand Central Library!
WSB has nothing to gain from getting cosy with the club. It would cease to be relevant or interesting if it did. I had two potential interviews scrapped last season after the club got wind of it. Both players have since left Oakwell and so they are now free to talk about their time at the club. Bobby's is a great read. Just wait til I get a Keith interview for issue eight...
Totally agree. The whole idea of the fanzine explosion in the eighties was to offer an alternative view to the sound bites released by the clubs. At that time I stopped buying programmes and always bought a fanzine, if available, at our games up and down the country, had quite a collection sadly lost somehow during a house move in the nineties. Tend to agree with Jay-sus, that the club is generally being well run...but it's always a good idea to have a voice reminding them that the fans are watching.
