Of course he does, and big respect to anyone that went today. However, attending the game doesn't automatically qualify his views as fact and nor does it exclude the possibility that his opinion might be utter rubbish.
Yes I was there and I'm not saying they played well, in fact poor. However we have no right to expect perfect performances game in game out, especially so early in the season. I've also been watching 40+ years and I can certainly say there's more hope and expectation now than 30 years ago. This is a young side and we have to expect some things to work on as individuals and as a team. The performance wasn't good, I fancied a win beforehand afterwards I was over the moon with a draw. One thing I didn't like today was playing Hourihane and Abbott side by side. Abbot played better as holding mid I.e. The Bailey role. Yesterday the tweak in the formation pushed Abbot too far forward for me. Hourihane space on the ball. Also left a hole in front of our back four and allowed Yoevil the possession and chances coming through the middle. Tiredness and is mistake lost us 3 points Despite a poor performance we didn't lose. I wonder what the backlash will be like and which player will be targeted when (not if) we have our poor results run. So far we are unbeaten away and only lost in the league when down to 10 men.
I'm happy with our start to the season and agree that there's hope, more than we had last season, with this bunch of new recruits. I would have taken a point before the game but 3 were there for the taking and we continually made the same basic errors time and time again and that's part of my frustration. Mistakes are part and parcel of the game but this side shouldn't be wilting through tiredness. There a well paid bunch of professionals and fitness should not be an issue at this stage of the season. Yeovil were a poor side but i didn't see them tire. They became stronger as the game progressed. Its only my opinion Icer and people have a right to disagree. I respect your views as i do others even if my outlook on things are different. What i will not do is post abuse to fellow members of this board just because i disagree.
I respect your posts and don't feel your being disrespectful. In fact I agree with a lot of what you say in terms of fitness, performance etc. I am hoping we focus on positives this season, forgive the odd mistake and support the development and progression through the season. Not paying em out in washers after a poor 45 mins away from home though? I have had a few bad days at the office too, and I'm experienced lol
Yes on reflection perhaps that quote from me was a tad over the top but that was the frustration at the time boiling over. I need to stand back take a deep breath and not post too hastily. Lol Onwards and hopefully upwards.
