I'll take it back he's worth every penny of his weekly wage He's just scored from 12 yards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
People are gonna say "arr oreyt" but I'd actually be disappointed if we signed him... I think he's $hite, I think he'd be $hite at L2 level, god knows how he's captain of england and manure...
Whether he's over rated or not he certainly knows how to take a penalty. That one tonight was unsavable.
Best days are behind him and he has padded his goal scoring record with goals against poor teams in friendlies. One goal in world cup finals speaks volumes. He wouldn't get picked ahead of a host of England strikers in their prime - Owen, Lineker, Shearer, Keegan, Greaves... I know we're not blessed with that type of talent now, but over hyping that Albert Fat Knacker isn't getting us anywhere. When he scored the crowd should've given him a slow hand clap or silence.
My take on him: Had incredible potential when he was younger. Looked on the verge of fulfilling that potential at euro 2004 Broke his foot v Portugal Since then he has failed to move forwards and perhaps gone slightly backwards That doesn't make him a bad player but he is nowhere near the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Robben etc who are truly world class The England team plays better without him in it, despite him being one of our better players Therefore, he should be dropped.
Why every England fan continues to slate Rooney is beyond me. Great goalscoring record for his club and country, not mentioning his passing ability and work rate. Think people's hatred of man u tends to cloud some people's judgement.
Keegan was the most over rated England player I ever saw. He had a high work rate but didn't have Rooney's all round game.
I don't get why people think he's world class.. He does NOTHING for England. Decent club player but internationally he ALWAYS disappoints. When you compare him to say, Owen.. Now he was a world class striker. Hat trick against Germany and that goal against Brazil. Anyone see Rooney doing that? Me neither
You sound like a Man U fan. Rose tinted glasses there mate. It's got bugger all to do with hatred of Man United - Just analyse his performance last night - didn't seem bothered and lacked effort. He'd been made captain and should have been in the thick of everything but he just strolled through the game and contributed very little either as a player or a captain.
