Been impressed with Winnall so far. While the goals haven't been flying in, his overall play is looking good imho. He's much more than a goalscorer, he's a footballer.

What really impressed me last night was they way he spoke to James Bree. When there's 9 or 10,000 of us in Oakwell I rarely hear a word from the players. I'm too far back in The Ponty and their voices are drowned out. Last night it was quiet, as you would expect for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, and even though I was in the upper tier, I could clearly hear the players talking to one another. Winnall never stopped encouraging James Bree. When Bree got it right, Winnall applauded him, if he made a mistake Winnall would urge him to keep going, to keep his head up.Good to hear that sort of camaraderie in the squad.

I don't suppose it really matters if the players in your team are angels or arseholes, it's the results that count, but I'd much rather support someone who encourages his young team mates than someone who slips out of the side door of the changing rooms in order to miss the motm presentation or doesn't bother to turn up to a supporter's trust meeting.

He's had a decent start to his career with us. Good to hear he's taking on responsibility too.

Haha. I saw that discussion on Twitter. Did he get his new old preds?

Did Daggers actually just not bother to turn up to that supporters trust evening? Or is it just rumour?

Was one of the nicest and easily approachable footballers I've ever met, and that's despite the stick he received early doors. Would be both surprised and gutted if indeed he just couldn't be arsed to put himself out that night. I remember it. I was going to actually turn up, such was my love for him at that point. Remember him not being able to attend, but never knew why that was.

Oh, and I agree re Winnall. First pick for me up front. Does more than he's credited for. And he's becoming the new O'Brien on twitter, but without the blue language etc. Seems a good egg, as well as a good footballer.

I do mate. I posted a thread about it a couple of weeks ago but you can't have seen it. Then I forgot. Again. Can I just transfer the cash to same account as last year? I'm at same address if you've still got it.

I'm fairly underwhelmed myself. I thought Hemmings showed more im 30 minutes than Winnall has all season. In the swap we did for Rose I can't see any particular improvement. I expect Scooby Doo to run on the pitch and unmadk him as Dagnall at any given point.

I was impressed by his support for Bree though especially when he was struggling in yhe first half

I normally agree with you a lot, JC. But not on this. Just as we didn't agree on Daggers.

    Opinions eh?

I really like Winnall. Just hope he's luckier than Daggers was.

I hope Winnall comes good he is certainly wholehearted. I just don't see a partnership with Lita being the best combination. And I presume Lita is a shoe in. Hemmings on the other hand brings pace, directness and power to a partnership and seems a better fit with Lita

Winnall and Hemmings for me. But not fussed which pairing Danny selects.

    Which is nice.

Whatever partnership Danny goes with, we can't be hoofing it up in the air all the time, all our strikers aren't tall enough.

I was at the meeting and he didn't turn up, and Ben Mansford took his place. No reason was given as to why he hadn't come, or I can't recall a reason being given. It is a while back though.
