A, if they where Barnsley supporters they'd be watching Barnsley at week ends not waiting their time with a pub team

B, what do you need two team for isn't one enough just go to more Barnsley game watch under 21 and under 18s

    C you're being silly

D not when I write it

Nightmare, in the past few years I've been to see Fortuna Dusseldorf three times, Bayer Leverkusen & Bayern Munich one, I've also booked tickets to go and watch Fortuna Dusseldorf again, plus Schalke and Bayern Munich again.

I've also been to watch Manchester United 3 times in the past 12 months.

Does this make me less of a Reds fan because I like to watch other teams instead of being at Oakwell every home game? Just wondering like.

I knew your Martin for a time when we were young rascals. My dad's called Pete, knocks abart (in the main) with Wraggy. One of the scariest/ugliest blokes I've ever clapped eyes on. But a top lad all the same.

That's cleared that up then. Many thanks for your short, informal yet informative answers. TheEnd (that's how I write it)

I've watched Rochdale when Tarn weren't laiking. Been to Boro, Bolton, Norwich games, and soon to attend a Huddersfield one I would imagine. Obvious reasons for all of them. Friends/family.

Saw a Bradford game last year (it's local and it was an international break).

Went to a Wednesday game twice as a kid, with my Wednesdayite mates. Saw Waddle etc.

In fact, I've seen loads of games not featuring tarn. As a young lad, whenever Tarn were away and I wasn't going with my dad, I used to watch Worsbrough Bridge.

    I just love football.

But I can't justify traipsing over to Tarn nardays, to watch Rec. When we aren't playing, or it's an away game I'm not going to, I'll be watching Huddersfield. Well, Jacob really, but thanus.

But who do I support? Tarn. End of.

I'm a Barnsley fan, my dad took me from being 3 had a season ticket for 15 years,
I moved over here so I only get to like 1 match per season now at most.
I have a season ticket at Chicago Fire as I coudn't live without watching football.
I do support the Fire, but Barnsley are my main love and the no1 team in my life

You sound like a jealous kid 'he's my friend, you can't play with him'. People can support any and as many clubs as they like. Why should it matter if they like to go and watch two clubs?

    Hi Andy

Surprised to hear you're an Athersley North lad. I am too - born and bred (literally) on Clifton Cresent, near Ibbotson's shop.

In fact, I played for Athersley Youth Club with Pete Goodlad - he was in my class at junior school. Also played with Glyn Riley. Perhaps a few years before your time?

If I still lived in the area, I would probably go and watch the Rec.

I watch Athersley Rec when Barnsley are not playing and have been to quite a few matches home and away with them. So looks like I'm a bit of a Bell End Nighty mate ha ha ha!! I'll be going tomorrow again too for the match against Shaw Lane. There's nowt wrong with supporting grass roots football in your local area when there's no tarn match on or you can't make Barnsleys away trip.

Why are people justifying their actions to him. He's not going to change his bizarre opinion.

Weird that people feel they have to defend themselves when someone is playing the im a better fan than you card. Do what you like its nowt to do wirh anyone else. Grass rootd football is a vital part of the game and people should be commended for supporting it. Over the years ive had a variety of second teans and been to see them when I wanted to and will continue to do so. My grandad didnt miss a home game for 20 years but never went to an away match who cares. Iive never been to see the Rec will do now. Of course whst a true fan would never do is slag off our jome grown lads at every opportunity

    I disagree on this.

I see your point on supporting two league clubs e.g. I'm a Man Utd fan but I support / want Barnsley to do well. That's poor in my eyes but.....

As long as the second teams foreign or that far down the football pyramid like Rec are then I can't see an issue. They will never be rivals.

As for your other comment about it's a fiver that should be spent on BFC, come on, most people don't do away trips because they're all day jobs that impact work / family or because they can't afford the roughly £50 (on the cheap side) cost of going.

A fiver makes spent watching Rec makes no difference

Too right, it will to the Rec though.
