Whens best time to book? i.e. is there a period in advance when they are cheaper? Looking to go down at back end of November or would I get best deals now or in a few weeks?
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/ticket_types/44703.aspx That link gives when each train company offers their cheapest tickets
You ever thought of flying from Leeds/Bradford? We've done it a few times, especially when going to Heathrow and onwards. 35 minutes flight time and all very straightforward.
That was on the trainline.com, even better I checked direct on East Coast website and got it for £21 return! sorted! Thanks chaps.
not for this trip - too much hassle. Wife's sister is visiting us from the States and we are taking a trip to London for a few days whilst she's here, think she'll like the fact we can be in London in 3 hours by train!
It'll be same train he's on anyway, it's not a bus it's a train but megabus is normally cheapest website
I tried megabus (for the train) and they weren't offering tickets that far in advance, finished week before. So seeing as I got them for £21 return each I was happy enough with that. Thanks anyway. I've done Megabus (bus) before and it was fine.
