If I heard what I thought were intruders n my bathroom and the Mrs was in bed with me, I am pretty sure I would check to make sure she was aware and safe before I shot at something through the closed bathroom door.
Did the investigators look in the bowl to see if it was a number 1 or number 2 in there? It holds the key to the whole case! Nothing in there and you know Pistorious has flushed to get rid of the evidence, which proves his guilt. I should be a detective me. To answer your question, we don't even have a lock on the bathroom.
Only things left are homicide and acquittal I still recon he'll be found not guilty for this, then get 5 years for the other counts
We don't have a lock on the bathroom door either - and we generally just leave the door open as well. Our bathroom is downstairs so anyone walking into the kitchen can see directly into the bathroom. The meter reader turned up once and I'd gone to the toilet. I'm sure they found it strange that she asked them to wait in the living room first and then she came through to check the bathroom door was closed!
I recon if he is found not guilty, his reaction will tell it all. If he's jumping for joy, he's guilty. If he breaks down in tears, he's probably innocent, and he can actually mourn her properly. Just my opinion, like
"I am of the view that the accused acted too hastily" Looks like negligence is gonna be what takes him down, via a man-slaughter charge. Done for the day, back tomorrow at 9:30
Court has been adjourned for the day - bloody hell. The judge has already deliberated on the verdict and just had to read it out - how can it take so long that she needs more than a day?!
She had to go over all the evidence, saying what it shows, saying what can be dismissed, and why, what can be taken with a pinch of salt essentially, and have to say what laws says this happens etc. she had a huge pile of papers that she has to read
Yes thats clear but why did she adjourn for an early lunch then come back after lunch for 5 mins to adjourn for the rest of the day surely she could have kept going and given us what she thinks he is guilty of... if anything
I think it's more to do with theatre. The whole world is watching, and just like the X Factor who cut to an ad break before they announce the next contestant to be leaving, the court has adjourned for the day to keep everyone in suspense. Had Pete Smith shot his girlfriend through a locked door in his own home he'd have been in gaol months ago and the key would have been thrown away. All this is just entertainment, not law.
Thats my take on it as well - anyone outside the public eye would have already been done for Murder I still dont get the bit where you are in a house with one other person - you hear a noise in the Bathroom and before checking where the other person is you shoot through the locked door and I think you are right about the theatre bit anyone else and she reads her assesment in a couple of hours tops and pronounces judgement
if you have money you will get a reduced sentence... same in USA, same in UK, same pretty much everywhere hope he doesn't get less than 10 years, as he has killed someone & has discharged a firearm in a public place on another occasion if that isn't a danger to the public I don't know the f**k what is
I'm with Jay on this - and even more so having seen the news where they showed the layout of the apartment and bathroom. It really makes no sense that she would lock the toilet door at 3am unless someone was after her. However, I also accept the judge in saying that this is circumstantial evidence and therefore not enough to convict, they cannot prove motive and they cannot prove intent.
