Could be the case ponty but we don't really know, do we? What we do know is that miliband did not reply to her perfectly sensible question. Something IMO she was entitled to. Don't you agree.
All he had to say was if she was that moronic to link trident to housing she should perhaps refrain from voting.
Sorry but what is moronic about knowing that UK spends billions on missiles and new housing is underfunded? Of course there is a link there.
Spending on trident - 2 - 2.5 billion. Spending on social housing - 19.5 billion. http://speye.wordpress.com/2014/09/...-cost-social-landlords-1-27-billion-per-year/
Oh i give up here. Just going round and round in circles here. Miliband let himself down and showed himself up for what he really is. I wonder if all you guys opinions might be a little different had it been Cameron who dodged the question?
WOWSERS!!! There are some serious knobsters on here. Personally want the Scots to remain in the union. But I can see now why Ian wants rid of us...and forget the Tories...there are several so called socialists on here who should be ashamed. Non Reds...footy and politically!!!
Seems a petty point to complain about. I'd like Scotland to stay in the union but the more I hear from the Scottish the more I think they should leave and give it a go on their own. The grass won't be greener on the other side and it will be a rude awakening for most. 2020 referendum to let the Scots back in the union anyone?
Some of the moronic responses from above shows just why the yes vote is gaining momentum. The perception that all people in social housing are spongers, whores or down and outs just enhances the argument for the yes campaign Some of the best people in the world come from council estates traditionally great communities. Some people need to get off their fekin high horses and get their noses from up their arses. They are the reason this country is divided. Wouldn't bother trying g to reason with them if I were you theirs not a civil bone in their bodies imo
I don't think it would ian. I can't stand either of them so no reason to defend either. I just think you're making too much of it. Would your opinion be different if it was Salmond?
He wouldn't have been asked that question though. If he was he would give the answer she wanted to hear. So not spinless.
Fair comment mate but the fact is that there are not as many house owners in Scotland as in England pro rata. And I do have friends who I suppose could afford their own home but prefer to rent. Their choice. Hope this was not a bit of snobbery coming out from some on here who seemed to look down on anyone who rented.
This g is there's people arguing in favour of miliband in this thread who have more or less called him the same e things as you in threads regarding other subjects. Some arguing for arguments sake who haven't got a clue.
I don't think anyone is saying that, I certainly aren't. My point is where do the billions come from to provide the necessary level of social housing? Workers and consumers are taxed highly as it is so that's a non starter. There is too much needing paying for and not enough coming in to pay for it. Scrapping trident won't touch the sides. Where else can it come from? Then there's the nhs, schools, police, fire service, the road network, flood defences etc etc, all needing billions investing to get them as we'd all like to see them. Glad it's not my job to make the decisions on what gets spent where.
Chuff me. No one is looking down on people who rent. People just don't agree with this woman's assertion that her current status or lack of is all down to a nuclear defence program she probably hadn't even heard of last week. A program which employs 6,700 scots by the way.
I got the feeling that some were arguing with me because i'm Scottish supporting Independence and as such they would argue black was white just to be different. If it was a political stance they were taking about me critising Miliband well they were wrong. I critisised him for showing total disrespect to the lassie.
Never mind lads I'm away to watch another debate on BBC1 about the referendum. Might be of interest to some of you as well.
