Has anyone been to newly opened Grill Pit in town yet?

What's it like any recommendations of what to have?

I have been to the Wakefield one, not impressed really.
It is Ok if you want one of those challenge meals, you know " eat this massive steak/ burger and side orders and get a free T shirt " thing , but the food was not up to much.
    Just my opinion .

I'd heard good things about the one in Wakefield and I'm delighted to see there's one now opened in Barnsley.

This and that 8oz burger gaffe down the arcade are EXACTLY the sort of things that will bring people back to the town. It certainly will me anyway!

    Funnily enough went earlier on,
Thought it was okay, a lot of meat as you would expect but some of our mozzarella sticks didn't have mozzarella in aha! Extremely filling as well, i had a burger with corn on the cob but the meat skewers looked rather good. Their phone was always ringing with people booking as well.

It's half decent meat which you get loads of.

If you're after good food I wouldn't be arsed but it's something else in Town which can only be a good thing.

Not been to the on in town but the Wakey ones good.

I expected just a load of average snap but it was a lot nicer than expected. Much rather go there than TGI's, Frankie & Benny's etc that I'd say are similarly priced

It's a steak & burger chain. I wouldn't raise your expectations too much

That's not the same folk. It's just called The Pit and they have places in Leeds, Harrogate and York.

Can't judge the Barnsley one as not been yet, but the Wakefield one is as you describe. Decent food, quantity over quality.

All good for Barnsley though, we need more eateries as it's been dire for years. Wait till I start doing my stews in winter at Redfearn's. Grill pit will be empty on Saturday nights!!
