Police are as bad as fans in Stoke.

If anyone witnessed this and had information make sure the club are notified via the Trust or directly

This is what the police did. Disgusting that someone's head caused this. Needs to be a full investigation.

Also an 8 year old lad was pepper sprayed just for trying to get to his dad.

I'm livid at the treatment away fans get at Port Vale. It's a total disgrace and it's nearly always caused by their animals

Its absolutely barbaric how football fans home or away are treated,
There are some absolute morons among us but that doesn't mean we all should be treat like animals.
It seems the po!ice have special licence against football supporters which is a disgrace imo but the television programmes and films that portray the alleged stereotypes don't help.

Hope someone's got some evidence of these incidents ,not that it would be any use against them IMO.

It's bad enough to treat an adult like that but to pepper spray a 8 year old is shocking . Hope they got the coppers number and report him

There did seem to be a simple fix to the melee in the car park. The police should have moved the Port Vale fans who were congregating by the away end away from the Reds fans and the stewards should have shepherded the Reds fans on to the coaches. Instead, they all seemed to want to join in with the brawling. The police and stewards shouldn't have let the home fans anywhere near us, as it was pretty obvious that they weren't coming round to offer us their heartfelt commiserations and to wish us a safe journey home. The fact that we had to go a particular route out of the ground and the police had to line the route because of previous incidents with locals bricking away coaches should tell them that their home fans are a bit naughty and shouldn't be allowed to get near the wall by the away car park.

I couldn't help feeling that if the Reds fans had just got on their coaches a lot of the problems wouldn't have happened though. It's a little bit pathetic watching grown men acting like that. But I fully expected it at Port Vale, hence I chose not to take my 9 year daughter.

I thought something might have gone off, driving away from the game I passed at least half a dozen police cars going the other way towards the ground. Hope they investigate the incident and justice is done.

I got into Burslem at around 12 and saw all the trouble on the main road and I was disgusted with the police from then till I gt on the train out of stoke at 18.20.

After the police had broken up the initial brawl on the main road a group of officers then decided to plough into two port vale fans crashing one of them into a shop window leaving him in a heap on the floor. I'm not defending the lads who were causing the trouble but as a member of the public I should be made to feel safe by the police and not like they are just as bad as the people they are trying to bring to order.

About 50 of our fans were sent into the Roebuck inn where at about quarter to 3 we were rounded up and marched to the ground and straight into a confrontation with the home supporters. I was with my dad who is 60 and my brother who is 13 and we were like sitting ducks stood there while the police looked at each other wondering what to do.

This all lead to a charged atmosphere with even our own fans fighting amongst themselves at half time.

After the game was worse if anything with police and stewards seemingly happy for vale fans to stand and taunt our fans while once again we were penned in behind a wall of them. I never saw the lad who got smashed into the car do anything wrong and all the police managed to do is make an already angry crowd lose it completely and I don't blame them if I'm honest we had been treat like cattle all afternoon and something had to give.

I went and got out of the way as that happened and thankfully myself my brother and my dad managed to get a taxi to stoke where we were greeted by 4 police dogs and about 10 coppers who probably ought to have been helping there mates out at the back of the away end.
