Well. Thats your opinion which with respect is not mine.

I've seen the same posters constantly from day one since wilson wad appointed. Nothing else but can't wait to pop.

He isn't above criticism and there are things I disagree with (brown at right back for example) but wanting him out after 8 games is quite frankly ridiculous.

But to constantly berate is tedious. It does affect the team.

All I can see is that some fans have that agenda and the negative atmosphere which is about to start will affect performance and results. And then the repeat and repeat sackings/complete overall of the team continues.

Its bout time everyone pulled together and got behind them. Just for once and we gave a manager more than 1 season.

I agree. But I disagree with BigLil. Because I'm not wrong. It's a nailed on red card if we're going by the rules of the game, and, it's a nailed on red card in my mind if you're stupid enough after being tackled like that to get up, grab somebody by the throat gesturing to smack him. It just is. And so I wouldn't deem it unfair.

But of course, the tackle that caused it was atrocious and I feel both players should have walked.

You ARE wrong. If it was a nailed on red card, it would happen every time without exception and there would be no need for a debate. It doesn't happen every time, so it isn't a nailed on red card.

In my opinion, in my mind, it's a nailed on red card. In the rules of the game, it's a nailed on red card. I can't be any clearer. You cannot grab an opponent by the throat in that manner and expect to stay on the field. That isn't to say all referees ALWAYS send the offender off, but it's a nailed on red if the referee carries out his duties to the letter of the law. Which that particular ref did on that day.

When Paul Gascoigne high kicked Gary Charles against Nottm Forest in the 1991 cup final, and then cynically chopped down the same player a few minutes later, he didn't receive a booking for either foul. Both were nailed on red card tackles.

Just because the referee doesn't always get things right, doesn't make the offences any less deserving of a red card.

Jennings deserved a red, he got one, unfair it wasn't.

So every referee is wrong who issues a yellow card in those circumstances? Which rule is it which says those actions automatically generate a red card and a cannot be misinterpreted so as to allow a yellow to issued instead?

Law 12 of Fouls and Misconduct -

    Sending-off offences
A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any of the
    following seven offences:
    • serious foul play
    • violent conduct
    • spitting at an opponent or any other person
    • denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity
by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within
    his own penalty area)
    • denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving
towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a
    penalty kick
    • using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
    • receiving a second caution in the same match

Nailed on red, going by the laws of the game.

As I say, if not every referee applies that law correctly, then that's a different debate altogether. My point was that it wasn't unfair to send off Dale Jennings. If you disagree, fair enough. But in my mind, in the rules of the game, it's a nailed on red card if you grab an opponent violently by the throat.

    Good debate though. :)

    You're right, I'm wrong. I apologise.

    Apologise? For what?

I thought you were making a sound point to be fair. It's not nailed on is it, if referees don't always apply the laws correctly? So maybe I'm wrong for using that term 'nailed on'.....? But I was originally just disagreeing with the opinion that Dale was unfairly dismissed.

    I hate being wrong/right. I love arguing. :D

    Proper Manager mate, who?

Swapping managers far too often has got us into this mess. We have got to give Danny time. Look at Fulham and Cardiff - managerial knee jerk reactions over the last 18 months and look what's happened! Disaster...

Just get behind the team pal, or otherwise get yourself on a bus to Sheffield - home of football moaners!

Jennings a well deserved sending off imo both in the letter and spirit of the law.

This. Having been on the other side for the past few years, certainly pre and post Robins I know it is a bit pot, kettle black.
