And don't give me that Keith hill nonsense because the majority of his players would walk into this side
Only Vaz Te , of the players Hill brought in would get a game, I mean signed players not loans ! Not being funny mate, but you are getting as bad as the West Yorkshire one.
Of the lads Keith recruited, and in their current form, Matty Done would waltz into this side, literally. Way better than Jennings. Vaz Te definitely. Golbourne. So not many. I'll give Keith credit, in that I always knew what we were trying to do. Dint work in the end, but aye, plan was clear to see. Not sure Danny knows his best team, best formation and he certainly hasn't made it clear how we are trying to play. Looks like last season, clueless but a division below. I'm hoping it'll all come together, no reason why it can't, but god we've assembled a slow, unfit and soft team. So easy to crack we are. Sad to see.
Hill bought some absolute garbage players, which is the reason we are in this league . The players we have now , are or will be by xmas, a far better team. Now here is the bit you dont want to hear, because you and the others that want him sacked now , never wanted him anyway , but this squad is in need of some time to get to know each other. Not many teams have ever just clicked, they have had to get together. Even Man Utd had to.
What was that them ? Swagger around in his fecking Barbour jacket , while telling the fans that they knew nowt and he was God ?
I always rated him when he played up top, or just behind. He's got 7 goals at this level. Jennings won't get that all season.
Soft and with eight goals. And getting applauded by opposition fans. But he still wouldn't fit in because he's playing with better players at Spotland, irrespective of the result next week.
So you keep telling us. But as you also keep telling us you can only judge on games you see. And when I saw him he was a gutless pussy. And with better players. I got sick of oppositions fans clapping our players. Has Keith allowed you to dream of promotion yet? Or is he still into dream killing?
No manager at our level is all good or bad Hill, Robins, Ritchie, Gudjon all much of a muchness in recent years. There are so many factors at work, budget a big one, but also a lot of luck & backing from the owners & to some extent the fans. There is a hard 12 months ahead. I predicted a mid table finish at the start & then got carried away after a few results. Expectation this season should be mid table. Danny said top 6, but if you are a manager you have to set the bar high. There is no way we will be top six, but we should persevere with the plan. I would sign 2 new full backs / wing backs on loan & maybe a "target man" & let Hemmings go out on loan for a bit. Lita only good as a sub for me, not fit enough to play our type of game.
I agree with that, always stuck to what you see. But he's not bad up front, really. Hill can say what he wants, we choose to ignore him at times too.
I wish he'd been sacked before the end of August 11 or was it 12. I'm fully expecting a Dale win because our players are pussies it seems and all that will go with that. I just hope in Hills case pride comes before a fall
No, Mark. He wanted us to play possession football. As I said, it didn't always work, but the plan was clear. He recruited well initially, got better performances from the likes of Butterfield, O'Brien and Gray, and we were a joy to watch more often than not. It all went wrong, yes. I think he was shafted by the board though. The bloke and his team were booed after 30 minutes of the first home league game. Don't think he and the fans saw eye to eye much after that. But everybody (except you) loved him for large chunks of his time here. But it's easier to say aye, he was a lovely person and did nowt positive. The facts are, Danny has been here nine months and we've gone backwards. But it's easier for folk to lay the blame elsewhere because it's Danny. And I say that as someone willing to give Danny years, not weeks to get it right. I'm a critical beggar. Yep. Guilty. But I'm not biased towards anyone, nor do I have an agenda or a want to be proven right. Many on here can't say the same, including yourself who did have an agenda with Keith/Flicker. You had your reasons. No problem, but it makes it harder to appreciate your opinions on em because you didn't like em. I call it how I see it. I loved Keith, wanted him from day one, supported him until I saw that in my opinion he'd lost the plot. No arguments there. Just as I'm being straight by saying Danny's done no better since coming back. He will do, over time though. I believe that. But will he get it? I'd say not. Our board don't have the patience and neither do much of the fanbase, not got the stomach for a struggle.
I'm pretty confident we will win on Saturday. After the last month there will be a large rocket placed up the arse of many players & Rochdale are at home & desperate to hammer the nails in our coffin. That is usually when BFC spring to life.... so we will see. Fair play to Hill & Rochdale from me. He has done well for them & he did the same for us for a few months before we lost the whole of our midfield after Christmas. After that it was crap, but it has been crap for the last decade, apart from the cup run under (of all people) Simon Davey.
Spackers signed infinitely more dross than Wilson will ever manage: Gorre, Lumsdon, Donovan, Rankin, Sand, Gallen, that bloke with the hole in his knee, Kevin Betsy, Lee Crooks, and Kevin Dixon.
