Player manager at Hamilton and doing an exceptional job.

Has his players playing some really good fast and exciting football and on a shoestring budget. No fluke results here.

All down to good organisation and obviously his leadership. Hamilton FC are certainly a huge improvement on previous seasons. They came to Tannadice recently and left with a point after a 2-2 draw.

Carry on like this and some struggling club will surely come in and take Mr Neil on board.

    Just saying. ;)

If he's as good a manager as he was a player, he can bloody well stay where he is.

If Alex Neil was capable of playing good, fast and exciting football we may not be in the mess we are in now! When he arrived we were told he was going to set the division alight. After a few games it became obvious he wasn't capable of setting his pants alight, even if he had a Jerrycan of petrol and a box of matches. The worst thing was, we signed him to replace Hignett. It was like selling your Ferrari and replacing it with a coffee table. Second hand. Originally from Ikea.

Good luck to him though, pleased to hear he's doing well. I've nowt against him, he just wasn't any good.

    Typical BFC.

    Replaced Hignett with Neil.

    Eaden with Regan.

    Vaz Te with Cotterill.

    Butterfield with Korey Smith.

    Hassell with nobody.

    O'Grady with Leroy Lita.

Good luck to the lad. Although he was somewhat unimpressive as a player, with us anyway, since when has that been indicative of someone's managerial abilities?

Good / Great players don't always make Good / Great managers. And vice versa.

i.e. Terry Butcher. Great player in his day. Pish manager. Found out big time at Hibs. LOL

To me it may very well be the case that Neil could turn out to be better at management than playing.

    Of course time will tell.

We were told Rangers wanted him, but we had beaten them to him with our huge offer of either £25,000 or £50,000.

Alex Neil, Carl Regan, Mitch Ward.... the summer when the dream began to turn into a nightmare.

    Lee Jones, too.

To be fair not many top players become top managers. Majority of the better managers were pants as players.

Laughing at this but it is true.
