It's true that Barnsley wanted to sell Done but when O'Brien did his shoulder in Hill said no despite the great Palace bid.

I suspect the club want fans to get tickets early so that ageing turnstile operators are now bullied into letting 17 year old yoofs trying to get in as a younger fan without ID and losing the club money

Unfortunately, I think fans abusing the concessions tickets are indeed the reason you have to buy in the box office.

What about the concessions on the day ? There's turnstyles you can pay both £23 and £16 on.

Have people before said the coffee, hot chocolate, tea etc they bought hasn't been warm enough? I've never had that problem.

The reaction of some that Rochdale are demanding ID supports the view too many try and get in without paying their dues

Yes for sure. Maybe it was in a particular stand or something?

Given that he was sat 2 foot in front of him on Saturday... Might not be such a great question

Was told this was a Doyle security request when we had a meeting with Don Rowing and staff at Full House, Monk Bretton a couple of years back. 1 of Doyle security bosses was present at meeting.

In thereevs opinion, paying cash on the gate should be stopped completely.

This would ensure each person pays the correct amount and the club receives the money it shoud.

In this day and age, cash on the gate should not be needed, along with all the problems it brings. Pre pay, print ure own, buy at the ticket office are enough options if u really wanna see the reds.

    Hth cos it should

I understand this is based on experience of working on the turnstiles? I'm sure the club would love to probably because of the same reasons you are(n't) alluding to. At the last meeting Ben said he wasb't planning on doing that but didn't rule out looking at restricting access to pay on the gate to certain areas of the ground in future. (Like other clubs)

It's been a very long time since I actually paid on the gate itself at an away ground, always have to go to a designated ticket office which is generally some kind of hut or booth near the away end.

IMO not allowing cash would be a massive step backwards. Anything that adds a barrier to walk up fans could easily put them off. Plus, lots of people either can't print, or have progressed beyond having a printer. We have a paperless office and I certainly don't have one at home anymore. Even my boarding pass when I went on holiday was scanned off my phone (next step for BFC?). Which I'm sure means lots of people would rather just pay cash than print a ticket.

Now I'm not saying being able to print your tickets at home is a bad thing. its a great option which particularly helps people who can't get to Oakwell to pick up a ticket when we suddnely announce 15 minutes after the postal order deadline that a game has now become all ticket. But new initiatives should supplement what exists, not replace an already popular option.

I agree, I sometimes decide to go to a match just before kick off. I don't have any ink in my printer and don't really want to pay the price of an extra match day ticket buying some and the queues at the box office are huge. I'd rather just rock up with 2 mins to go and pay on the gate.

Ask Ben to install BT Sport on the TV's inside Oakwell so I can watch the 2nd half of the early premiership game inside Oakwell. Cheers

I might be being a bit thick here but unless you actually enter the ground via the box office cant I still buy a kids ticket online or at the box office but then as an adult fraudulently present it to the exact same turnstyle operator as if id just paid on the gate? Surely his or her opinion on whether im under Ql17 or not will be the same whether im presenting a ticket or a tenner. In fact isnt there more chance they will let me in as a kid if i already have a ticket than if i was wanting to buy one?
