It's something we're used to as Cambridge fans, sadly it's what keeps our club alive but it's still painful when it happens! This one was worse than normal though as it happened within a couple of weeks of the season starting and no warning signs that he was on his way out. Our manager made it clear he had no intention of selling Berry and it's only because Barnsley met the release clause in his contract - would love to know what that was!

What makes it worse still is that he's a Cambridge born and bred, a youth product who joined us when he was 14 and we invested so much into him.

But on an individual level, good luck to him, he's a quality player and has potential to play at an even higher level - hopefully he can help take your team up.

    Sounds very familiar...

We often lose players to pokey release clauses, but I'm surprised an academy graduate has a release clause at all, especially with him still so young, release clauses are normally to coax a player to join.

I like him as a player, and I don't think Danny is playing him out wide, I think he's playing 3 in the middle, and no right winger. Berry drifts out there occasionally as a right midfielder, but not as a winger.

Glad we have him, not quite there yet, but he'll have good games, he'll be good in a couple years.

Thought he had his best game for us yesterday, particularly second half. I think he's found the step up difficult so far and he doesn't have the physical stature to help him, but for the first time yesterday he looked like he really belonged at league 1 level. Hopefully his improvement will continue.

TBF mate, we've a lot of new players in the squad and its takes a little time to find there place in the side, which is best for the team..

MOTM contender yesterday up there with Ramage. Archey is right about him splitting opinion. I'm on the side that thinks he's good. For someone to jump two leagues, move miles away to a new area and to play for a team with by league one standard big expectations he's done well. Granted he's had poor games but he's had good ones too. I'm sure he will continue to get better. Danny is managing him well dipping him in and out of the team.
