Can you imagine that happening in football To be fair they were no need to punch him again while he couldn't defend himself Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And Rugby fans have the nerve to criticise footballers, at least we don't see this kind of thuggery in the professional game. It shocks me that this kind of behaviour isn't dealt with more severely in Rugby because that is assault, maybe worse. I watch under 17's rugby and there are fights breaking out more and more often (perhaps they're copying their thug heroes) but the refs seem happy to jus give them a talking to or a yellow card which is ridiculous and doesn't set the right example at all. There should be zero tolerance towards this type of behaviour from the very youngest age.
even the commentator said the first punch would have been fine and just a yellow it was the second punch that sent him of
I just can't see how he won't get charged with this one. The first punch wasn't an automatic reaction, so there was no excuse for it. But the second one is awful. Striking a man square in the face when he wasn't defending himself and looked barely conscious. Like someone else said, people get locked up for less than this. Does it take a complaint by the other player to bring it to formal police attention, in which case will the sport close ranks to try to brush over it, or can any member of the public report it?
I think the rules are different for sportsmen, they seem to have some kind of immunity from prosecution when they break the law. Didn't somebody say the police had received several complaints about Morgan but they did nothing. This is even more blatant than the Morgan assault.
The incident, now with "AH CAN'T SPEYK" commentary.
I wonder if there will be an investigation into any "off field activities" if you get my drift. For a professional to do something like that, even in Rugby League, he must have known he'd have to walk.
