Our lass paid £16 for a glass of Prosecco at a bar on Park Lane last night. I'm just glad I wasn't with her because the shock might have finished me off.
Not a fan of Nicholsons ones but they are better value. The one down the side of Heron tower is quite nice but still talking approx £5 for a peroni style lager. A couple the other side of smithfield which are ok and the folly is good just on the corner before you get to london bridge. And you've got a few in the arcade further down bishopsgate, but they are usually full of annoying tarquins who work in the city! How long you down for?
Cool.... i'll shout you a beer then.... just not up heron tower ;-) A busy run up to chrimbo (and just getting back to normality after getting married a few weeks ago) so early new year could be a plan if you're game?
I was in Las Vegas a few weeks back, staying at The Cosmopolitan. Went to the pool bar for a couple of beers - they were the small tins (think a tin of Coke) and it cost me $18. Still, you only live once, and you can't put a price on enjoyment.
I had a very ropey non descript pint in Milan that was 10E Not sure enjoyment came to ind as it was downed ;-)
Thanks... taken up weekends for more than a year so glad its done with. Give me a nudge if i forget and we'll sort something new year
I know what you mean. I remember when they were good pubs. Several years with a poor marketing manager has weakened their offering.
The Folly and the one down the side of the Heron Tower (Drift) are owned by the same company and have the same pricing structure. These are both full of annoying tarquins though! The White Hart (Nicholson's) is now closed as Alan Sugar took the lease back. Shame really, as it was a proper hub for Liverpool Street and the city.
