Seeing as the lad's been on the sub's bench alately. Abbott is another obvious choice as a like for like replacement. Perhaps bringing in Treacy or Jennings (if fit) to provide width might be another option.

Met Paul Digby in dressing rooms today. What a smashing lad he is. He spoke to my boys and asked which boots (studs) he should wear today.

I know that doesn't make him a great player, but a nice touch.

Sorry, JLWBL. I know you are a fan of Bree, especially as he's a young player, but he was poor today. He made a few clearance headers, and didn't have a lot of cover, but he gave the ball away in defensive positions and their player went past him easily as he has no pace. He wasn't the only player to give the ball away though.

    Digby needs game time.

This is an ideal game for him to show us all what he is capable of.

Or will he fall by the wayside like RNL appears to have done?

I personally would give him a start

I think get Treacy or Jennings in on wing with Williams. Then get Hourihane in centre with berry.

However would be looking to get Digby on if either centre two tire.

He will need to perform much better than in recent showings if he does get the nod

I'll go with whatever Danny decides, but I think Abbott would be more deserving than Digby. However, Digby's the one on the bench recently so I suppose he looks favourite. Must be doing summat in training because - on albeit limited viewing - he's been woeful this season. But you're only one display away from turning that around. I'd be chuffed if he (or Abbott) came in and performed so well that Bailey couldn't get back in.

By the sounds of it, we've given a decent account of ourselves today. Shame we couldn't get something from the game but that's life. We can't win all the time.

Digby needs to go on loan, too static in midfield for me. Think long term he will be a better centre back than a midfielder. I'd play Berry in middle on Tuesday put Treacey on wing and get Hourihane more involved than he was today.

Abbot seems to be ahead of Digby in Wilson's mind, finding Digby the right club to go on loan to should be a priority for the sake of his career as he isn't going to get the games he needs with us.

He's too much of a risk to give game time to

When he first broke in to the team a few years ago he looked a very exciting prospect but now he doesn't seem to play instinctively and seems to need ages to do anything with the ball and generally looks clumsy, seems another case of a young player getting their natural ability coached out of them and they end up thinking too much.

You are probably right re coaching

He did look a different player when he first burst onto the scene

Personally I'd give Digby a go. Abbott was poor in his last 2 league starts & whilst I'd like to see him get more game time due to him impressing in the games before that I think Digby deserves a start & he should be full of confidence after a couple of decent performances for England U-20's

He was 17 last weekend. He's only played a few league games. The chances of him playing well in every game is somewhere between nil and bugger all. I think he has tremendous potential, but accept there will be games when he struggles. I know there's some on here who believe having patience with our young, inexperienced players is an anathema in the modern game. But I refuse to single out the young boy for criticism, especially away from home against one of the divisions better teams.

You'd think so but he's getting into a habit of costing goals when he plays at any level

I'd be keeping him away from England

He'd get the ball and within a second he was spraying out perfect 40 yard passes to the wings, it could just be one game I'm thinking about here (can't remember who it was against), but at that time he looked a lot better than the rubbish that seemed to start ahead of him when fit - this could have been around the time he had the long injury that was never really explained though.

He has been out a long time and perhaps that is still affecting him
