Wasn't it him back in early 80s who got Frankie goes to Hollywood and relax banned? Tbh I was glad he did.
He was the first who refused to play it. Said something along the lines of 'I'm not playing that filth'. Never before has one man, nothing to do with the group, had so much influence on the record sales of one band.
its amazing how some people misconstrue anything and everything to suit their own ends,i've just listened to it and cant find anything anti semetic either,if I have missed anything then I'd expect to see mike read in court.
to be honest, i don't find the fact the he's singing a song in a caribbean accent racist. but he's still a lovely person, for supporting UKIP
Just listened to. That's 4 minutes I'll never get back. It's ****, obviously, that probably goes without saying. The lyrics are awful, but what did we expect? I can't detect any racism or anti-Semitism though. It's xenophobic, but that's what UKip are. They should be called the Xenophobic party. It's not a trait I find appealing, I think it's very sad, but there's no law against it. Then there's the Jamaican accent. It's odd, but Mike Read's a tw.at and tw.ats do tw.attish things. Dunt make him racist. Just an idiot.
Nigel Farage requests his favourite tune Deutschland uber alles from Mike 'Nicey' Read. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
The lyrics might be a bit weak; but what do you expect from such a jolly type of tune.............but importantly the lyrics are telling it how it is. Lets just hope that UKIP can smash the mould of the two main political parties that employ career politicians
If that's what he had written it would certainly be anti-Semitic. Far be it for me to stick up for the silly bleeder, but these are the lyrics: Coalition could be a fact With any party we could make a pact Stop telling lies about us too And we’ll stop telling the truth about you Because of the stupid cod Jamaican accent, what he actually sings is Coalition could be a fact Wit' any party we could make a pact Stop telling lies about us joo And we’ll stop telling the truth about choo If it was the word 'Jew' it wouldn't make any sense in that verse. He's talking about political parties, not religious groups. He's made a rod for his own back by being a silly tw.at and singing a stupid song in a stupid accent. He deserves all he gets really and it's kinda funny that he's having to deal with all these accusations of racism and anti-Semitism. Maybe he is a an anti-Semite, I really don't know, but I'm guessing he's just stupid. I can't help feeling the vitriol people are expressing would be far better directed at more legitimate targets who do hold such beliefs, instead of giving UKip more and more publicity. They'll easily be able to dispel these accusations and come out of this looking like they're not racist or anti-Semitic at all and the only political party capable of having a laugh. We already know how it's going to go, Farage will wax lyrical about this being just another example of how political correctness, coming down from the those unelected suits in Europe, is getting out of hand and a vote for Ukip will help rid us of all this nonsense. Truth is, Ukip have some seriously flawed policies, their xenophobia could have serious implication on the way we trade with the rest of Europe, by far our biggest export market, and their agenda is beginning to set the policies of other political parties. About time the media seriously examined what Ukip actually stand for, stop accusing them of racism every two minutes and getting in to a tiz over silly songs.
Look at Obama. He didn't defeat the Tea Party by calling them racist. He did it by engaging them seriously and they soon made themselves look stupid
