John, I'm afraid you appear very ignorant with no understanding of what racism is. You threw the word lovely person in there as well, well done. I feel sorry for people like you, because you do harm to people who actually suffer racism. And you're calling him a sad lovely person.
You haven't missed anything, it's sad people who want to try and make something out of nothing. Amazing really.
both the main two parties are now carping on about a renegotiated stance on Europe, something that without doubt is needed, this would not have happened without the rise of ukip,so in many eyes they are already doing some good.Over the last two decades we have been promised referendums on Europe by both labour and the tories and neither of them have delivered. Many in this country never got a vote in the first place and feel that ukip is the only answer because the other two have completely ignored the public and buried their heads in the sand on the issue. calling ukip racist is helping them more than hindering them because many are sick of hearing it,misconstruing this song is a perfect example. As ark says serious engagement is the only way to tackle ukip and indeed any party,it certainly put the bnp down a peg or two, however I do not think this will be the case with ukip as their policies are attracting voters and contrary to how some think they have more than just getting out of the eu,they are there on their website and whether you believe them or not is up to you. Decades of stripping our assets by tories and labour have left many areas like ours with nothing for the working class people, decent paid skilled jobs in our major industries have gone,to be replaced by low paid jobs in call centres and retail, these places will never ever pay the same as industry, margins are low and competition is fierce. We have promises right left and centre being made by the usual suspects in the commons but when you look at their history its no wonder many of the voters have had enough, especially those who are old enough to have witnessed what has happenened.
Whilst I agree entirely with the above that has all been the result of first Thatcherism and Reaganomics, and then New Labour believing that the only way they could get power was to operate under the same free market capitalist system. The current biggest proponents of that system that caused the above? UKIP. They are, economically Thatcherite Tories. That's not saying you shouldn't vote for them. Lots of people are fiscal conservatives, who have concerns about British sovereignty, and the effects of immigration. But I actually think in reality the number of people who are all three of those things is very low. That's why UKIP should be engaged with, to make clear to people what their whole 'offer' would be. And certainly the most important of their views for people in places like Barnsley is those on public services and the economy.
Sensible (left wing) view here - UKIP's voters are more than Daily Mail bigots. http://linkis.com/spiked-online.com/ouhFA
http://www.ukip.org/issues taken straight from their website, you either agree or you don't. it'll be interesting to see how things pan out at the next election,i personally think that talk of 25 seats is optimistic, given how our democracy works, however,if they pull anything like the percentage they did in the euro's then they will hold onto that like a dog with a bone making a point of how the general public are feeling. whatever you may think of ukip they are doing a remarkable job in swaying people, especially when you consider the hammering they take from the media, right and left wing papers alike constantly berate them.Labour will never be outed in their traditional strongholds but the votes are steadily going away from them, the labour card holders and mp's who gagged for PR under thatcher are probably heaving a sigh of relief it never happened, the vote for AV was that complicated an issue for some it was never going to see the light of day anyway.
Its all there in the first para - independence from government interference (ie deregulation, the cause of the recent economic crisis and long term structural problems), free trade (neo-liberalism, competition and privatisation), and lower taxes (which equates to redcuded public spending). Of course their first point is that they are a patriotic party who wants freedom from the EU, but is the rest of the paragraph that would actually impact people on a day to day basis. That's what needs scrutiny and explaining to the electorate.
Not sure he has actually defeated them, they are still about. And there have plenty of calls that they are racist and Obama has used the term as well.
I'm not sure that it can be interpreted differently? Less government interference, free trade and lower taxation are the corner stones of free market capitalism. I'm not having a pop at them for that. I have friends who absolutely believe that's the way the economy should be run. Personally I completely disagree and think they're wrong but there you go. My point is people considering voting for UKIP should be aware they are voting for economic Thatcherism, for the fiscal right of the Conservative party. I'm not sure UKIP would evendispute that?
Can you tell me what the line is then? I've listened to it a dozen times & can't find an alternative word. Obviously when you sing a song in a fake caribbean accent it is possible to be misconstrued! Maybe he will "black up" for next year's party conference. Sad ****.
the line is 'stop telling lies about us too'...absolutely no mention of jew, maybe an alternative word would be 'do',but can anybody actually believe he says 'jew'?
I agree with you, you are a sad **** Why don't you look the lyrics up instead of passing off your own racist views through someone else?
