I'd read quite a few negative remarks about him before the season started, mainly from rival fans about how rubbish he was, but I didn't really want to believe it. I wanted to give him a chance and hopefully prove he was a good addition. Jesus - how bad is he? He's one of the worst defenders I've seen at the club for a while now. He retreats (whilst spinning in circles) before allowing the winger to either by pass him completely, or gain five yards and put a cross in. Dire.
I fear the writing is already on the wall for the lad. He's lost the fans and looks like he's lost the manager. Unless he has a Damascus style discovery, I suspect he'll just go from bad to worse now.
I watched him in a friendly against Wednesday & thought he was pretty poor but came on here to see rave reviews about him, opinions soon changed
Apart from his cameo against Bradford where he didn't really have the opportunity to do owt wrong I've not seen him. Is he really that bad? I've seen some pretty shoddy defenders in my time - Paul Gibbs and Mike Flynn were definitely up there with the worst. Surely Brown can't be in their league of crapness?
Tom Kennedy esque. Awful - bad enough that a 17 year old who, in all honesty, isn't quite ready, has elbowed him out of the team. Pinching a living on his brother's name I reckon. Whatever happened to Anton Ferdinand?
some will argue he's a centre-half being unfairly shoehorned into a full back role. and to be fair he's still not really had many games. but purely in a full back capacity - the worst i can remember seeing. people hammered TK and Wisey. so far, he's worse than both, IMO
Btw I'm a huge fan of young bree, I just fear playing two games week in week out might not work out too well for his long term fitness and development
I think its fair to say he is farly poor as a full back. Not sure he is Paul Gibbs bad but he is bad. some allowances have to be made for the fact he is playing out of position but he seems unable to tackle which would seem to be a pre requisite of any defender in any position but ho hum.
It speaks volumes that a young kid has forced his way into the team ahead of him, whilst at left back a loanee from a Premier League club can't get a game in front of Nyatanga who is more of a centre half. Looks like Danny has signed a coupla duds to me...
