    But then Redstar e-mailed to say we have signed Mike Phenix. Not the THE Mike Phenix I thought to myself but to my amazement it's true. I'm glad we couldn't get Grant Holt if it means getting Mike Phenix. I thought we were desperate for two full backs or a midfielder who can tackle but when the chance to sign Mike Phenix comes along, well that's an opportunity you grab with both hands.

    Look at the players we signed from bigger clubs in the summer (Treacy, Brown, Lita and Dudgeon) and compare them to the players we bought from smaller clubs (Hourihane, Berry and Winnall).

    Someone who can hold the ball up will take the pressure off our defence. Defending starts from the attack and their ability to retain the ball, doing that better will be the 1st step.

    No point panic buying a defender or a holding midfielder otherwhise you end up with another Frimpong.

    So someone who can hold the ball up front will stop them skinning our full backs everytime? Sort the full backs, Winnall and Cole have been fine up front, l don't think there's a need for this target man, rather have those two chasing them down and harassing than a big lump up front.
