Happy clapper? No. Just long term in my thinking, see further than the end of my nose, patient and supportive. We all got the 'rebuild' and 'patient' memo from Danny and the club this summer. Some chose to ignore it.
I didn't ignore it and I fully understand the need to rebuild. I just think one or two older, more experienced heads in the squad would help our younger lads out. Danny has brought in some lads of undoubted ability but losing too many home games won't help their confidence levels. A couple of older heads with a bit of experience would help enormously. Ramage is a start but I think we still need someone in midfield. Phenix will hopefully be a real find but I hope Danny sees the bigger picture too...
Come on mate, we can't pick and choose which memos to use, can we? There was also a memo about 'top six, minimum'. One or two choosing to ignore that one as well?
I never got that memo. I was told personally by Ben that top six was the aim. As it ought to be. But I don't know where the minimum bit has come from. But then, I've probably missed bits of things over the months.
Ben and Whitey, sitting in a tree. B.U.M.M.I.N.G Bff xx Reyt, gunna bed nar. I'll pick up your rebuke tomorra..
I have seen the You Tube goals he scored at home to Barnet, which is a cracking header in injury time to earn a deserved draw and two more headers in the away 3-1 win at Woking, again very good headers with a lot of physical presence to get airborne and be strong enough to muscle through the defenders and place the headers with power and accuracy. His glancing header at Woking is possibly the best, as it would have been hardest to get on target and required the deftest touch. I guess that's what we have seen in him. We are certainly short of a tall striker who can score, or make goals through headers. On the other hand, he will take time to make the step-up. I am recalling Darren Sheridan, whom we signed from Winsford, and Martin Bullock from Eastwood Town. Sheridan seemed to make the transition quickly, but Bully took more time. Give him an early substitute appearance to give him the taste and then work on him and see where he goes. Best wishes to the lad. Hope it's better than the warehouse.
I'm buzzing over this. Because at the end of the day, we've signed a lad from an alcohol wholesalers in Manchester. He should be ****. So the worst that could happen is that he is. Danny's obviously seen something in him and he'll be desperate to prove Danny right. I reckon he'll be a cult hero if nothing else. Mike Phenix, that's a cracking name too.
Don't expect to see him in the short term. Took both sherridan and bullock time to acclimatise The lad is new to full time football and needs to be given a chance
The lad's also been struck down in the past with the same debilitating illness suffered by Darren Fletcher of Manchester United. It's possible the illness could've hindered his progress in the game, prior to diagnosis and successful treatment. http://www.shropshirestar.com/news/...e-phenix-fights-back-after-crippling-illness/
