Do you remember John Robertson? Won the European Cup for Forest by virtue of his contributions - was it twice - built like a brick shithouse? As a winger Jennings' is bulky. So what? Maradonna was built like a bull. Jennings is just not doing owt. Not worth his place in the team. If he slimmed down he'd still do the same things.
wow. williams has been one of our best players since he joined, and jennings has touched the ball about 3 times. but fair enough.
Re: told you before Dyson, you are pissing into the wind with the likes of these rioja or merlot tonight?
Re: told you before Dyson, you are pissing into the wind with the likes of these I just don't think Jennings is very good, regardless of his size... ...he is too wide though. Looks like one of those hench ***ts you see on a night out, swinging his arms about in his white v-neck t-shirt looking for someone to start a fight with
Re: told you before Dyson, you are pissing into the wind with the likes of these We were sat 5 rows from the front in the ESL and he looked to me like he was blowing out of his arse after 5 minutes.
It does to me too. I don't think it's doing him any favours though. He doesn't appear to be able to cover the same ground as when he returned from MK Dons last season and he wasn't carrying that bulk. He was at his best when he was running around like Williams is doing now. He's not been doing that this season and as a consequence he doesn't look nearly as good.
It's just sad to see now. At first, earlier in the season I was annoyed by it. But now I just feel disappointed because as you say, he last season was similar in his style to Williams now, very direct, quick etc. And Williams isn't our player, Dale is. Part of me says it's not as we fear, otherwise Danny surely wouldn't have him involved. But I've got eyes and the lad looks overweight and unfit for purpose as a winger in modern football. I mean, Ronaldo is muscly, proper muscly. But he's slim with it. Dale just looks heavy and I promise you he was definitely gasping for breath late in today's game. He'd only been ont field a short time. That's not right.
Against Fleetwood, where he played most of the game, he looked shattered everytime he had a run. They were chucking sachets of energy gel at him all second half.
Completely different era now. Footballers in general are much more athletic these days so anyone who isn't is at a massive disadvantage.
The point was that just because he's barrel chested does not necessarily stop him being a footballer.
